Get the lasguns out

Just extract it into your dawn of war\w40k folder and you get to fight with the Imperial Guard. Fun, but tough.

Damnit wish I had seen this last night when I was at home. So many questions.......... What kind of equipment does the IG have? Do they get hammered by the other armies? Can you play different armies i.e. Iron Guard, Tallern etc?

Well to be fair you only get half an army (well about a quater of one....) You get your basic fodder, which costs 1 population, and 20 quid per trooper (virtually free tbh....), the fun begines when you can get 15 troops for 1 population...... you can literally have 300 imperial guard troops. Their 2 charecters arent great, far splattier than the other unique's, but not too bad for an imp. Their vehicles are fun, you can get up to 3 sentinels for 2 population, unfortunately their splatty, and very expensive to upgrade and not worth their doller value, however then theres the lemun russ's..... oh fun...... always a fun vehicles, you can get Chimera's too, but considering the uselessness of Rhino's I never built one

all true, but its fun having so many ickkie squashy troops, hundreds of lasguns

They ain't fully working as said, but the basis of the race are there so the modders (or relic themselves) will have a full IG race out either when the full game comes out (friday) or soon after.

Just finished a long skirmish with the Guard vs Hard Orks on Kasyr Lutien (u can import the beta maps into the demo as well), good fun, took quite a while to win it. Massed guard squads with grenade launchers make it hard work for units to get into Hand 2 Hand, as long as the guard are either backed up with Leman Russ Tanks or are covered by turrets/listening posts. Once the Orks get into Hand 2 Hand its funny watching them scyth thru the guards.

Yea they arent much good in melee, which makes Assault marines fun against them, but as for sheer splatty fun, Squiggoth against Imps just cant be beat

whats wrong? One thing u need to do before starting a skirmish using the Imperial guard is to remove the 'Annihilate' win condition .. (well i think u do).

I played them with Annihalate only as a win condition, so no theres no problem there.

Hmmm, Annihalate only as a win condition, would be interesting to see just how many IG troops would die in a game like that, i ain't tried playing against them yet, last game saw me lose almost 1200 troops to the Orks before I got the take and hold victory.

1200 isnt that much for the Imps tbh, considering their all cheap as chips,i bet £ for £ you probably were better off than the Orks, as their grunts are great for how cheap they are, beat chunks outta Cultists tbh.
