I wouldn't know my d from my J when it comes to which DJs play the music I want to hear. I know Timo Mass is playing Redbox this Friday, will that be boom boom Oxegen style or will he be doing remixes of beyonce and the kind? shudder...

Dude, you want to check out downstairs in the Metropolitan on Eden Quay beside where Murphys Laughter Lounge used to be, great atmosphere and great music, thursdays is usually techno-electro, fridays is house, saturdays is drum and bass.

Thursdays is the best though imo, they've got in some of the best international djs so far this year.

I'd pass on the redbox though, the admission is a ripoff and it's usually full of scummers..

Anywhere in Dublin play 'classic' rock for an aul lad like myself?

Not talking about classic Bon Jovi or Europe (though can't complain about those when you hear the rubbish released over the past 15 years) - more like Led Zeppelin, Journey, etc...

the Vaults on a Sat nite.

What a load of crap. At techno nights you will never see ANY scraps, or get lads leeching around looking for birds to get their hole, or people feeling the need to get up into their Sunday best to go out and impress people, or just in general assholes going around being assholes. Its just normal peolpe being themselves.

Metropolitan on a Thursday is a prime example. Metropolitan in general upstairs and down is a pretty decent spot.

I was in Isoldes last night and had a great time. No cover charge, open till 3am, great tunes etc

In fairness, the Dj was playing crappy R&B rubbish for about 30mins after I got in. Bunch of women dancing around their handbags to Nelly ffs.. BUT... it soon changed to dancefloor classics (wish I could remember what now!).. and I remembered why I frequent the place so much.. :D

Lots of lovely ladies in there last night too..

    K.

Must try out that metropolitan place:)

I'm not the type of guy who will get all prepped up for going out, I never change into something different. I'll go in my daily clothes for a night out, places that don't allow runners can get business elsewhere. I get into Spirit and redbox in whatever so thats cool.

I'd class a scumbag who is somebody who starts fights for no reason and who is out for trouble.

I've never seen a fight in the redbox dance nights, only on the student nights.

Well it depends on what you are into:

If you want to go somewhere and score try many of the usual hovel's - coyote, Q bar redz.

Bondi is nice enough I guess - best of a bad lot situation really, altho in summer it is very war, but you can wear T-Shirts + shorts so I guess it evens out.

I hear Metropolitan is meant to be good for some electro music stuff.

Club Spoirt! is very very good!

Personally I think clubs are crap cause you spend a for-tune on drink, transport and general ****. With that kind of money you could by those fabled binoculars that cost a "for-tune" (as qouted from NTL advert)!

I think as a group we all kinda gave up on clubs when we went out and my mate was asked his star sign andwhen he said the correct one he was not allowed in, Probably bad tidings if he got went in.
But I guess its better than the usual:
    Not in those shoes
    Members only
    Not tonight lads
    21's only lads
