Anyone know offhand what would broadcast on that port?

I know it's used for RPC services, although NT doesn't use that port and there was an old exploit of being able to crash a server on that port but anyone know what software would use that port (transmitting, not listening).

According to my big list of TCP port numbers it's listed as:

    135/udp Location Service

    Not much help I'm afraid.

    Acording to techrepublic.com

Block all incoming connections to ports 135-139 to our internal network because these ports are used by NetBIOS services (broadcasts, resources sharing, etc.), and they should not be available through the external network connection.

Yep it's internal traffic. just my list of common ports doesn't list that one (only 136, 137 as NETBIOS). :/ Ok ta.
