    SCP - secure copy ?

    Runs on top of ssh.

Can get un*x and win32 clients easily.

The openssh site, http://www.openssh.com/ should be a good place to start. As are the relevant man pages for: http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi?query=scp

For a win32 cli client usable outside of usa try pscp: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html

    Hope that's of some help.

Using SSL, haven't tryed it myself but I guess it's just a case of running some form of POST acceptor on your webserver and throwing a bit of code around it. Prompt for username password. Then stick together a form with a file select input on it allowing you to select files to post to server and a listing of current files on the server for download and bobs yer uncle.

    thanks for that.
unfortunately I can't use a webserver, it has to be a client/server thing.
    I'll look into scp.
