Not very - it sends out a mail saying "deRanged would like to recall the message 'whatever subject'" or similar.

I think it works ok[1] if the mail is still on the exchange server; if it's already on the addressees' boxes then it will just show that message..

    Al.

    1. i.e. deletes the email...

Trojan is correct. If it's still on the Exchange server, it's not sent. Other than that, you'll have to eat humble pie.

How can you retract an email??...is it possible using Outlook?...someone was asking me the other day.

in outlook go to sent mail, double click on the mail in question, go to actions and there's an option to recall the mail. I don't know how effective it is though.
