.bat + file type problem

Hi Lads, Whenever I click on the .bat files it always open in one or the other editor. It doesn't actually execute. I try to open it in cmd.exe but still doesn't work. how to make bat files execute on a cllick so it doens't open in any edition ? Any help would be appreciated cheers, RHN

try renaming the bat files to whatever.cmd
