So you'd prefer a deceptive manipulative fellow yourself? Somehow I doubt you really would. Why are you feeling sorry for straightforwardness?

You see hot girls in skimpy clothing and you look! And you go "phwaa!"

Then if you can, you score with them. Then you ignore them cause they are gob****es.

Then one night, you meet a girl that makes you go "phwaa!" and it turns out she is not a gob****e and you marry her (or something).

The point is, the look with all the Oasis and river island **** and all that crap is purely for "sex" and not for a relationship.

But so what? Those girls get sex. Great. All the girls who dont like that dressing up tarty crap dont get as much sex, and lots of them (not all) resent it!
And the guys who cant score with the tarts resent it.
Maybe resent is the wrong word, but they see themselves as "above it". Which they are in terms of maturity anyway, but if they are not comfortable with it, it means they are not above it and are simply lying because nobody wants to seem uncomfortable with who they are.

Gah. Rambling now. Must get back to work :D

For the love of all that's holy, if you don't want to get leered at, put some damn clothes on...

I have to disagree with you here - I don't dress tarty going out at all - I dress differently & I have never had any totally getting a guy... to tell you the truth, I've never even chatted a guy up! I didn't find the need to .... I just went out to enjoy myself - I wouldn't call myself a ladet or anything like that but I'm certainly not a Riverisland/Oasis clone....

What always amazes me is the way people deem one-night stands as something to be ashamed of. It completely perplexes me, For every (straight) man thats had one, there's a woman that's had one too (simple mathematical fact). Yet, most women, and a growing proportion of men deem them to be something distasteful. I just don't get this.

Just because someone doesn't want a relationship at a certain point in their life does not diminish their libido. So, as long as it's under no pretences and it's safe, where's the harm?

Ya know I'm really puzzled by your posts.

First its I love my boyfriend

then you go and have your girlie night in cork. And score some random punter.

Then you're like "Oh I love my boyfriend I feel so crappy I have to make it up to him by getting a brazillian".

And now you're advocating going around on the pull.

Make up your mind will you.

hmmm, this is hard because I qualify for both types...I like to drink my cocktails as much as I do a pint of guiness, it just depends on my mood which I go for, but to be honest...more men have apporached me in a bar when I was holding a martini glass than a glass of beer.

I like to dress up when I go out (classy like, blouse and slacks) but I also like nights out in jeans and tennis shoes, and you always have one day when you want to go out on the edge a little and wear the very low cut top and short skirt, ...going to the opera or going out to shoot pool or just going out to dance, its really all about what mood I am in. Like most women I would imagine.

So what category would I fall in? you really cant judge girls by looks because one day I am wearing a frilly dress and talking in a seminar and the next I am in jeans and at a pool hall or playing video games...so if you saw me one day and not the next you would only be judging me from day one on what I "looked" like.

You lads would do yourselves better to talk to a girl no matter what she looks like to get to know her as a friend and then when you "know" her you can decide if you want a relationship. Just sitting down next to a girl and having a friendly conversation can give you an idea as to what type of person she is rather than the way she is dressed at a glance from across the room, or what kind of drink she is holding ;)

as long as they've got a nice body and cute face, then im sold, being girlie or not doesnt matter that much, but if i had to pick id have to say not

f uck it each to their own. Dress like slapper=probably get treated like slapper. Girl who drinks pints=may or may not get pulled depending on whether or not any blokes in the vicinity like that or not. Doesnt really matter in the whole scale of things.

Me i likes ladylike girls who dress girlie but not with their tits hanging out and a skirt up to their ear. I want someone (and am going out with) who can have a laugh and good conversation and not be afraid to speak their mind or try and fit into some kindov stereotype. The man part of me wants to see as much of her body as possible but who wants to go out with a slapper? As long as she doesnt wear tweed trousers, a star-trek tshirt and does actually make me fancy her its all good!

The whole pint thing seems a bit old fashioned to me. If i was a bird id probably drink them because they actually are decent old fashioned alcohol not 99% flavouring and acid and they're much better value. If a bloke didnt like me just cos i drank pints and didnt take the time to look and see the real me, feck him there's plenty of us all to go around. It does still look a bit weird but its just cos of the way things used to be. I bet 20 years from now if we had this discussion, nobody would have a problem with it. Imagine it was 1950 now and a girl posted a message here (if there was an internet/boards!!!) that she was going to be a soldier/guard/company director/not a housewife.

Times change and the way people drink change. Feck it lets all just get drunk!:D

Most girls, but graciously not all, in Ireland these days look and act like ejits.

I think they act like ejits cause of the stuff they wear. The more you bare the more you dare. Attitude change with

Seriously, River Island and Oasis are the breeding ground for these gals.

    Usually with bellies hanging out.

Flipflops with turned up jeans. Fake nails. Fake streaky brown blond hair, usually tied up in a bun, fake tan (usually just on the calf of the leg-no higher!). Fake ugly plastic looking jewellry, colourful belts.

Do they not realise they all look the same?

    Fake fake fake

    Be yourself, not something fake.

I love my flip-flops, and my 3/4 length jeans!!!
my nails are pink, but short coz of my guitar.
my hairs naturally blonde, usually down and wavey.
    my tan is REAL.
    my jewellery is silver.
    my belts are black.

    what dose that make me???

it makes you a human beeing. How could you say that all girls in ireland look and act like eijits? That smacks of somebody that has been with feck all women or has very few female friends

    :p
    ya know what i mean!!!
not all of us irish girls drink till we fall over, wear 3 inches of make up and have "tans" that would make Christina Aguilera (sp?) and Donnatella Versache (sp?) look pale.
We dont all bleach our hair, and we dont all drink alcopops.
    (vodka and lime myself... )

don't tar us all with the one brush! :)

I never said all Irish girls act and dress that way, I said a growing proportion IIRC.
