I'm holding the pack for Red Hat ES in my hand.
I've just been asked to help someone out with an install/upgrade.
I'm not particularly familiar with RH, but have a chunk of Debian knowledge.
Is there something like "update all relevant packages to this version - hit button make go now"?

    1. Make sure all your applications will work on RHES before upgrade. setup a test machine first

nothing worse when I was using RH8 my application
worked fine and now it wont after upgrade

    2. Before you do the upgrade make a full backup

    4. You should be able just reboot the server and but in the first cd of RHES and follow the upgrade instructions

    Thanks,
it turns out the machine is running Red Hat Linux release 7.2 (Enigma)

I'll do a backup regardless but I'd like to get a better picture of what the current machine state is.
Is there a command/method to list the current installed packages/running daemons?
