so what if you crave it, have you no self restraint? its common sense to know that its not good for you in large/daily doses. also i dont know how anyone can claim they have a right to sue mcdonalds for being obese.

and id agree with the sentiments expressed about allowing children to become obese on this is child abuse. mcdonalds used to be a treat for kids, and its fine for that purpose. its not meant for everyday consumption irregardless of how many toys/cool ads they have, or how much their lovin it.

I gave up eating MC D's years ago, keep your €6.50 and buy a sandwich in Bendini & Shaws and you'll still be full 2 hours later.

There is something added to Mc Donalds that makes you think you are full when you eat it, same stuff they put in Chinese food, but i can't remember the name of it at the moment.

Interesting fact. A single big Mac counts as half your daily allowance of points on the Weight Watchers program. A Large Big Mac Meal is pretty much your full allowance!

Nope, I'm with BuffyBot on this it's blatant stupidity. The "addiction" cry is just one from the weak-willed, lazy, stupid, Oprah-watching slob sub(human) culture.

Fuck you all, I used to be addicted to sugar and it wasn't that I was weak-willed, lazy(in fact I exercised like a madman to keep the weight down) or stupid though perhaps ignorant. I tried cutting back on sugar, I really tried but they cravings just grew too intense, and it's not just that the cravings make you "want" sugar, it's full-on withdrawl it's head aches, mood swings, aches & pains etc. You could try using will power to get through them, but you can't focus on anything else other than the pain. And it's not like giving up cigarettes or drugs, because with cigarettes and drugs you know there's a light at the end of the tunnel, a point where you will be clean. People are also far more supportive. You don't go out to a relative's house and get plied with cigarettes or cocaine or whatever. With sugar, you never know where sugar's going to be lurking in your food to start the cravings cycle all over again. I eventually got myself clean, but only after massively educating myself on the nutritional content of every single piece of food I eat, which wasn't an easy task while I was suffering from depression. I've been "clean" for quite a while and now I'm able to say no to sweet things & alchohol that come my way (How many of you can admit to being able to stay dry every time you go out?). I accidentally ingested some sugar last week however (I had a bowl of corn flakes, which have sugar added to them) and now I have to endure a few days of cravings again, such is the curse, but at least I'll be better again by the end of the week.

Oh and by the way, in case you're thinking "but that never happens to me", that's because it doesn't happen to everyone, just those genetically prone to it. Actually I didn't even know that sugar was addicitve, I just thought that I was really really in love with it, and that there would be no way I could live without it. Once I found out it was addictive though, I knew that without it the cravings would go away, and that gave me the strength to rid myself of it.

    MSG?

Carbohydrates, especially sugar also make you hungry again soon after you eat. You need protein/fat/fibre to keep you full for longer.

Stark, that sounds like a one in a billion chance type of disease... And it's obviously not just McDonalds it's anything with sugar in it.

I remember that I used to eat a ton of chocolate. I used to eat something like four bars at school, and more after. As a result I used to have severe acne (I was real fussy, didn't like any salad food, only sugary foods).

When I stopped eating chocolate, I went through a small period of craving but it finally passed. I don't eat chocolate much anymore, or else I break out in spots.

Is it actually the chocolate that gives you the spots, or just all the crappy flavourings and additives??
