Mp3 to .au format?

Im not sure exactly which board to post this in but.... Can anyone tell me where or what software will convert mp3 to .au format? I need it in .au for a java applet for a web page. Perhaps ye know of a round about way of doing it like software to convert mp3 to .wav and then .wav to .au? thanks for any help ye will give.

I use a program called Goldwave. It supports loads of file types, and it is a very good editor too, editing mp3's and stuff. I don't know where you can download it, but you probably could.
