    Gaunt runs to the front of the carriage in the hope of figuring out the coupling mechanism. Failing that, maybe a couple of grenades will do the trick.

    Tank proceeds to head to the roof of the last carriage and takes up a sniper position lying prone of the roof of the carriage.

    tank waits scanning the dark for any signs of movment saftey off....

    Zmek's attention is caught for a moment when he hears the instruction for Dietrich to use ebb blast to unblock the tunnel...so, an ebon or a waster...this seems too precarious a place to find an ebon so perhaps at least for now he has some reliable support.

    Some plan the squad leader has concocted. it seems it revolves entirely around Zmek doing all of the work and taking all of the risks. Typical! No doubt the humans will still swagger when the job is done as if they had played some significant role.

    No matter...the truth remained the truth.

    Staying low as he ran, Zmek darted along the carriage roof, glancing from side to side seeking some sign from enemies in the dark. He took careful note of the footfalls on the carriage roof close behind, keeping track of Dietrich's position.

    Soon he would see the other's power unveilled, only then would he judge.

    [Game turn 10]

    tank's turn

    Twice during the hour that passes you see figures lurching in the shadows the first time they came towards the carriage you let loose a salvo of tracer fire and several cannibals fell to the ground and didnt get up again, as you lie on the roof of the carriage your accute ears pick up the sound of heavy breathing.... you scan the tunnel in both directions but you cant see anything after a few seconds there is a large electrical explosion and a shower of sparks far off to your left and with that the main tunnel lights go out....... with only the emergency lights for guidance you don your low light goggles and see just in time 4 cannibals climbing up onto the roof of the carriage!! you press the trigger in full auto as in a shower of hot led tracer round after tracer round bursts out into the darkness two of the cannibals are hit and killed instantly there shredded carcesses throw clear from the roof of the train and land in heap as they bounce onto the ground. the other two are only armed with clubs as they swing one misses you and the other clubs you on the back of the head doing no damage but stunning you slightly. dropping the MAL assault cannon to the ground you draw your power katanna and screaming you attack the 3rd cannibal (yes you got a critical) cleaving him in half as his torso is thrown clear from the carriage the 4th cannibal drops his weapon leaps from the roof of the train into the shadows panting from the effort with your head still stinging you pick up your MAL cannon and plop back down onto the roof of the train waiting for the next wave of cannibals to attack

    gaunt, squall and havelock

    You begin setting up the carriage for detonation (it will take zmek two turns to reach the front of the train) with the help of the wraith and gunn the human you manage to uncouple the last carriage so its now unhooked from the rest of the train. with that the first wave of cannibals attack before you even get a change to react you hear a volley of shots come from the roof as tank roars a victory, bodies drop outside and the cannibals flee. again about 40 mins later you now have the anti matter tanks primed with the help of gunn who is an engineer makes everything ready. Within a few moment a petrol bomb is hurled through the front of the rail train as the back of the carriage is on fire. smoke fills the cabin and you hear automatic gun fire again come from the roof of the train. coughing and spluttering you see 2 cannibals outside the train trying to climb in the hole that was made by the shattered glass window (im not even gonna roll as there are 5 SLA ops against 2 unarmed cannibals there dead dead dead) actually you manage to keep one of the cannibals alive he's on the ground bleeding and subdued but he should be ok your only concern now is the fire that is rapidly nearing the anti matter containers!!!

    zmek

    will take you 2 turns to reach the front of the train

    as you proceed along the top of the train you finally meet detrich he's tall long black leather trench coat eyes charcoal black he's a brain waster like you the shock on his face when he see's another brain waster is priceless something he wasnt expecting. "ok then lets get this farce of a show on the raod shall we?" he grunts to you as you near the front of the train you hear automatic gunfire from the rear of the train twice in the hour it took you to get to the front of the train with detrich!
    detrich COMS Squall and ghost "report whats going on back their?" you now face the task of moving the massive obstruction that is ahead of you with you both using blast you should be able to cear the obstruction this turn (but id duck if i were you)
    detrich COMS ghost "get ready for a fireworks display this one's gonna be a big one"
    detrich says to you one 3 we channel at the same time and trigger blast at the same time it should be enough to clear the obstruciton..... or bury us alive... either way's good for me...

    with that detrich closes his eyes......

    Pulling his power Katana from the corpse of one of the cannibals Squall. Looks towards the flames at the back of the train.

    "We need to put that out."

    *He moves down the carriage looking for the nearest source of water*

    Zmek recognises the surprise on Dietrich's face "Expecting someone else?"

    "I take it from your expression you have not seen the female waster from our squad? She came ahead of us and has disappeared. Her passing would be of no relevance to me but my curiosity desires to know of her fate."

    As they draw closer to the front of the train Zmek begins to size up the blockage in the tunnel. He could probably move it with explosives but it would take time to rig the charges in here so that the whole place didn't fall in on their heads. No. Blast it.

    He wondered about the power of the other waster. Perhaps he should hold back to veil his own capabilities until he knew more. Better to have your enemies believe you are weak....but this was a waster, he would probably play the same game and they would both be none the wiser. It seemed Dietrich did not carry any special ebb weaponry so he probably was no stronger than Zmek.

    Zmek hesitates for a moment as Dietrich closes his eyes...what a moment of vulnerability...this trust is a sign of weakness. The moment hangs frozen in time as Zmek takes in the feeling of power it gives him....but not yet. Not now.

    Now is for another purpose.

    Allowing his head to tip backwards he closes his eyes, almost involuntarily his hands flatten and raise in front of him as he mutters a few inaudible calculations. Without stirring from the valley of concentration into which he has slipped he raises one hand to his temple and stretches the other out in front of him, static dances in his hair as the power builds.

    Time and space draw back to reveal the universe of flux, channelling down and through the brain wasters in a cacophony of roaring power, building like the death call of a thousand warriors to burst forth in one, powerful blast of energy directed at the massive boulders blocking the tunnel.

    Guessing that a burning petrol, anti-matter mix would probably be a health hazard, Gaunt hurries to avoid the problem, or at least delay it. Grabbing one of the large mutant carcasses he attempts to drag it betweend the spreading pool of petrol and the anti-mat containers but finds it a bit too much to handle. Hopefully that will do the business.
    "A bit of help with the dam petrol would be nice guys."

    hearing the sound of urgency in the carriage tank climbs down back into the carriage (thats still connected to the train) and with a lighter (i assume i have one) lights the upholstry of one of the seats setting it on fire waiting for the automatic fire system to kick in (its a passengar train it has to have one) tank grabs the nearest container he can find (scanning brefily for a fire extingusher aswell) and fill it with water from that starts to spray down from the ceiling and with a full container of water runs towards the disconnected / crippled carriage that his team mates are in ......

    got a PM from ALIEN

    *tank see's a fire extingusher (but has no idea how to operate it or even if its working) grabs that too and heads back onto the roof of the passengar train (thats still connected to the train) and then runs allong the roof and jumps to the disconnected carriage opens the roof hatch and drops the fire extengusher down the hole (still holding the container of water) then proceeds to clmib down into the carriage with the container of water looking tp put the fire out........

    Seeing the fire extinguisher fall from the roof Squall grabs it from the floor and quickly looks at the instructions on how to operate it. Aiming for the base of the fire he presses a trigger and hopes for the best....

    [game turn 10a]

    With both the water and the fire extingusher the fire is safely put out, after a few moments there is a resonating BOOM which echo's all around the tunnel as the train shakes from the explosion that came from the front of the train. within a few moments detrichs voice is herd over the COMS channel "the front of the train is cleared I've contacted the rail driver it will take 6 mins to power up the train" just as he finishes talking ghost appears at the side of the train mac following close behind with the unconsious body of tali slung over his back

    ghost is out of breath "heads up folks we got company there's a whole nest of em coming this way over 50 of them" as you look out into the darkness of the tunnel you see shapes of various sizes lumbering they appear to be waiting for something but your not sure what. ghost turns back to you and says "squall what ever your going to do you better do it fast or were all dead"

    [zmek and detrich]

    after a few moments of concentration you feel the power corsing through your veins you can also feel the torrent of power flowing throught the other brain waster and you get the feeling he is indeed holding back some of his power but never the less you face the task at hand. you both finish your calcuations at the exact same time and as you open your eyes there is a sudden calm stillness in the air...... not a sound and then chaos in its purest form, the massive wall of stone is ripped apart in less than a second debris scatters everyewhere you sheild your face from the dust stone and mortar that is thrown in every direction, detrich doesnt move a mussle a cold stillness in his eyes he stands facing the massive destruction you have caused and as the dust settles he turns to you and says "it is done now lets go we have a long treck back before the zombies get here" with that you hear ghosts COMS to squall detrich begins to run "hurry you fool before were trapped down here forever" .....

    "Gaunt, Geist. Continue preparing the detonator."

    "Tank. Get back to the roof. Cover the emergency door. Ill stay in here incase they get into the carriage."

    "Zmek. We need you back here asap"

    "Ghost. I suggest you have your team ready to move the train. Were gonna need to get out of here quickly"

    *With that Squall readies his weapons. Peering out the window he watches the encroaching shadows for movement*

    "Tank hold fire until they make a move. We need all the time we can get"

    On hearing Squall's orders tank starts to climb back onto the roof with his FEN AR rifel in hand loading a clip of hi-vis ammo into the gun "lets see what these babies can do"

    tank shouts back down into the cabin "someone check and see if Tali is still alive"
    settling into a defensive position at the back of the boiler tank switches to IR view on the rifel flicks the saftey off and mutters "lock n load" and takes aim and anything that comes near the train

    As the dust begins to settle Zmek turns away from the mess of concrete, folds his arms and scowls at Dietrich "You could have done that yourself and saved me the walk all the way down here..."

    He turns away and starts to walk back along the train roof as Squall's order arrives "Go here, go there...we need you, we need you...how the puny one's tune changes when cannibals lurk beyond the range of their feeble eyes." He stops and places his hands on his hips, looking back and forth down the tunnel, from the newly cleared way ahead to the dim distant rear of the train where the others wait.

    "You know..." he says to noone in particular "I think I am being taken for granted. It is time this squad gained some dignity.."

    Without a further word, Zmek steps to the edge of the train roof and jumps off, disappearing into the blackness.
