everything costs more here, so DVD prices are priced accordingly.

'Legitimate' DVD's in Russia cost as little as 6 euro if you can find them, simply because pirate DVD's are freely available in shops and markets for sale for around 2-3 euro, and the legitimate DVD distributors have to price them accordingly so that people will bother to pay for them, instead of going for the cheaper option.

movie distributors will charge what people will pay, and since there is little option (CDWOW aside) for people but to buy 25 euro DVD's, that is what most people do.

and the movie studios, and distributors rake it in while we get ripped off.
