Don't know much about the basses, but Dan Electro electric guitars are fantastic. They've got great tone and shape. Very distinctive in every way. Usually quite cheap too. Usually.

Yeah, the Dan Electro electric guitars are as ugly as sin, but I was pleasantly surprised by the tone at a gig I went to recently. Then again, a gig is not the ideal place to judge. :dunno:

    i found the website: http://www.danelectro.com/guitars.htm

i hope the guy sells it to me actually

as far as i remember, its this bad boy:

seems like a nice cheap fun bass from the reviews i've read and those lipstick pickups are cool imo.:D

Man its ugly, if the price is anywhere above €400 dont bother. Save up a little more and buy a second hand Jazz or similar...

you say ugly, i say distinguished.

i think its shape is a welcome change to the old standard designs.

it should be well under 400euro.

Then go for it man. And then if you get famous, they can name it after you, cause no-one else will be playing one.

It will sound good though. Dan Electro have a sweet tone. sweet i tells ya.

    I need sleep.

My brother used to play one of those, one of his mates has it on long term loan.
    Longhorn, I think they're called.
    Nice bass to play.

I think they've a 30" scale (your Fender Jazz has a 34" scale) so they'll be a lot easier to play... if a little wussie ;)

Indeed they are, so you'll have to get strings for that scale too, but they're a good little instrument.
