Apparently if you sign to Eircom Broadband with 3G Mobile they pay your connection fee for you. Anyone know anything more about this?

They give you stuff like an Xbox for €99 or an iPod at a discount rate...

Yep, 3g have a promotion alright. Was in their store in Tallaght on Friday and the 99 connection/setup fee is waived when you sign up. Asked how long it was running until and they guy didn't know but thought until the end of April.

if 3G are bearing the cost of the connection fee what's in it for them?
have they a deal with Eircom as a result of buying the stores off them??

Curiosity got the better of me today so I rang Eircom and asked how they can waive the install fee and as a previous poster pointed out, the are giving an xbox for €99. Still a good deal and they are technically not doing the install for free. Sounds a bit odd though, but that's the best I could get from Eircom anyway.

Went into one of the stores yesterday - Apparently if you sign up with Direct Debit in the 3G Stores they refund you the €99 connection fee that you have to pay Eircom, like as a cheque, in the post.
That's gotta be annoying to people who've signed up over the phone direct with Eircom. (ha ha)
