damn I thought we had fixed the "sniggger" problem. /me goes to look.

So we have a wide variety of opinions here. Which should I follow?

I think I'll bow to ColinM's opinion, I mean jeeeesus... the guy has an *image*... you cant argue with a good image really...

Pic was great, personally i find that "oppresion" differs from mod to mod ie Bio who bans as soon as in infringment takes place, and crash_000 who is quite lenient

All in all, boards is pretty fair

Great pic but I don't agree on the blanket opinion it's making. Yeah some mods just go OTT, but generally they're a nice bunch.

Besides, it's not the people who post that conform, it's all the mods have to conform!! If we don't, DeVore usually cuts off, fries, and eats our genitals for breakfast.

Different boards require different degrees of moderation. Some moderators take very different approaches to each board they're moderator of. You also have to remember that all mods are different. We're not a set of drones who are going to react the same way to the same post. As an extreme example, if a Garda is extra tough on you breaking the law because he has a hangover, hey it's unfair, but that's the way it is. Such as it is on boards. Lump it, loike.

There is an appeals procedure (i.e. Post on feedback). Use it if you feel oppressed or hard done by.

I think you misunderstood, i have no probs with boards, just stating, as you did (but apparently not as clearly) that some mods are more heavy handed and trigger happy thatn others. ColinM may just have annoyed a mod

This place is fine. But if moderators are going to ban someone for a week for calling someone a spa(me)...then they have to ban someone else for calling someone a "****ing dickhead" and not just give them a warning.

1. Why?

2. They don't "have to" do anything.

3. Have I called plenty of people spas without getting banned? Yes - but they were all bad people

Mods take each situation on it's merit. Yes, it's inequality. They have one law for the sound people, and one law for the known muppets. Prove yourself to be sound and you can get away with slagging someone off once in a while so long as you don't over do it or be genuinely nasty about it.

And prove yourself a muppet by threading the fine line, then you will be harshly punished the one and only time you cross it. Tough luck. Don't do it again - we're watching you.

Perfectly clear to most.
