New Linux irc chat room on dalnet

Hi ppls just lettin ya know there is a new chat room opened on irc on the dalnet server #linux.ie and #linux_irl hope to see some ya there it's only new so give it some time to build up it's regulars list

i only use dalnet for trolling(username gUrlkink04), most people here would use quakenet id imagine, and the beautifully active #unix.ie channel

The busiest linuxy irish channel is likely #linux on irc.linux.ie, which runs on the linux.ie webserver.

I didn't know that it was that difficult to get into an IRC channel Michele...

It isn't normally

I kept on getting on undernete about the channel mode, however it let me connect this morning without any problems.

Sometimes we find it necessary to set mode +r on the channel - it's fairly high profile and a target for flooders and spambots. +r means that only users authenticated to the X services bot can join - or you can request a /invite from an op if there's one awake. X accounts are available to all who apply at http://cservice.undernet.org/live/. As an added bonus, when you're authenticated (/msg x@channels.undernet.org login bknight bknightspass) you can set mode +x on yourself. That hides your real host and you'd become someone@bknight.users.undernet.org
