I was just looking at the "images of beauty " thread images of beauty and considering there are so much women, I was wondering can anyone enlighten me as to why guys find certain women soooooooooo fine. If you check out the thread, there isnt really a single theme except maybe for fit women with not much clothes -…

I was just looking at the "images of beauty " thread images of beauty and considering there are so much women, I was wondering can anyone enlighten me as to why guys find certain women soooooooooo fine.

If you check out the thread, there isnt really a single theme except maybe for fit women with not much clothes - basically what im saying is - is there a reason (other than procreation theories) that us guys find women sooooo bloody beautiful.

Another thing, are women the same as guys? eg orlando bloom, the blonde guy in fight club that gets his face smashed in by edward nortan (disclaimer :this is what i thing women like) - do these guys have the same effect on women as fantastic looking women have on guys?

Makes a woman hot.

The face is the most imporrant thing. And heres why.

You're in a pub, and a woman a red dress catches your eye. You can see the back of a woman and she should be a model, almost 6 foot, beautiful long legs and a tight red dress. You approach, and the sides come into view and you're liking the chest already. She starts laughing and its incredible and she turns her face towards you. And you see the biggest yellow teeth sticking out of her mouth at 45°, with a pointed man-chin and a thick-set eyes.

The saddest thing too, because you can work on an ass, or getting thin or whatever, but the face is pretty hard to change. The same applies to us men. Of course confidence is the key, a lot of things can be simply ignored by making your own luck. Easy to say, and incredibly hard to do

ok I know what you mean - a beautiful face is the trump card, but what makes a face beautiful ???

But the thread is more aimed towards what makes ppl think somehting is beautiful.
Example - is a 100 year old oak tree more beautiful than a hot looking woman/guy or vice versa ? Or what makes one woman more beautiful than another ? (again insert guy as appropriate)

hate to sound all hippy-dippy but its really a matter of opinion

I personally like what you would call petite girls, who are cute, have a nice body etc

by cute i mean pretty eyes, a bright smile and a really...well, cute face!!!

But others have totally different opinons..... A friend of mine is going out with some one who is really really ugly IMO, but he thinks she beautiful.... and thats fair enough... each to their own... if it wasnt like that people like me would be f*ucked.

A friend of mine is going out with some one who is really really ugly IMO, but he thinks she beautiful

maybe he's scared - does she beat him

on a serious note(not too serious) I ment this thread as a question as to why we (humans) find certain types of people beautiful - i would guess that even you mate thinks that someone like jessica alba is beautiful.

No matter who you are (with maybe a few exceptions - i dont know) everyone thinks the same sort of ppl are good looking - why? what have they got that others dont ?

I don't think there is one absolute definition of a beautiful woman or a beautiful man. Every single person has their own unique image of what they find beautiful. Some men like large breasts, some like small breasts, some like skinny women, some like curvy women, some like fat women, etc.

Of course, the media and society in general try to drill into people what they should find beautiful. Some people believe it, and some people just use their own ideas to decide what they find beautiful.

Ratio for Beauty This puts forward the idea that ones face is made up of measurements... and those that are close to the ratio in the article are considered great beauties... apparently a lot of lovely celeb women have ratio perfect faces... so perhaps there is a science to beauty....

I doubt that there is any person, male or female that is generally good looking.... as exit said everyone has different tastes, from figure, to hair/eye colour to the shape of someones face to their height or build etc.

btw, it is possible that the girl beats him, shes gotta do something to get him under the thumb (i dont like her in any way....!!!)

Both of you guys/gals are correct - everyone is different, however,I think that generally there are women that the majority of guys think are beautiful and vice versa.

This article seems a bit simplistic to me though, but it could be true. Most beautiful people have a beautiful face - no matter what there body is like- soooooo is it acceptable to move this question back to Civilian_Target's idea that the face is the most important attribute when assigning beauty ??

Just to finish off this point. It's the majority of media influenced guys that find a certain type of woman beautiful. If you went to a place that has absolutely no contact with western media, you'd find that most males don't go for the tall, thin, busty woman that western men go for.

Everyone has their own idea about whats hot and whats not.

I for instance find one of my friends to be pretty hot, but another of my friends things she's the ugliest thing to walk on the earth.

Smae for me, some girls think i'm horrible, and others think i'm the hottest thing to walk on the earth (well, i hope they do...).

But there are always some basic common factors, and thats the face. The position of the eyes/nose/mouth, and size of said objects etc.

Some people perfer the biggest tits you can find, some people find huge tits a turn off. Some like girls with a bit of meat on them, something to hold on to. Others like their girls pencil thin. Its all personal preference.

My advice, if you think a girl is hot, ignore what everyone else says (unless they agree), cos after all, will your friend by the one who goes out with her?

It's all got to do with symmetry. The more one side of the face looks like the other the better looking the person is. I've seen examples. On discovery they showed pics of an ugly person and a good looking person, they were both simular enough looking, but for some unidentifiable reason, one was stunning, and the other you wouldn't go near.

Then they altered the photo of the stunner so that the left side of her face was being used for both sides of her face, ie they duplicated her left side, flipped it over, and replaced her right side with it. She still looked pretty much the same.

They did the same to the ugly looking person, and by doing it, they made her look like a freaky goblin, not even human

I think it has to do with how a healthy a person looks aswell. I mean if they look like a dirty big fat slob well you're not going to want to go there, but a nice clear complexion, bright, shiny hair it draws your attention.
That and ass, they gots ta have ass.

Someone posted the link to an article on this a while back. It was based on a survey of 'good' looking people's faces and the common threads in all of them. The conclusions drawn were fairly plausible, much more so than most of the suggestions on this thread.

Not beauty as such, but behavior can greatly increase attractiveness. Such behaviors include direct eye contact, smiling, laughing, touching and so on.

There has been research done on what makes women and men attractive

Women:
Large eyes
High rounded forehead
Smooth skin
Delicate chin and jaw
Chest to waist to hip ratio

Men:
Square imposing forehead and brow
Large jaw and chin
Well developed shoulders and chest
Above average height
Waist to chest ratio of <0.75

Symmetry is important for both sexes as are signs of cleanliness and good health (straight white teeth, shiny clean hair etc.)

There was a program on the beeb about lying and if there aren't crows feet there the smile ain't genuine. Weird too, a lot of the posts I put up on the Beauty forum don't capture the nuances of the presenters - Lili Gruber doing the main evening news casually casting the hand outs to one side..

IIRC the symmetry and fair skin is supposed to be an indication of not having disease or parasites (dark skin concels more) and the distribution of fat can allegedly indicate whether a woman can meat the calorific demands of pregnancy and lactation. (Interesting question of whether if true or not and are Lesbians in to T&A and what would be the signifance of that or not)

Beauty is skin deep etc.

PS. Sophie Loraine fails most biometric beauty tests
