Did you honestly expect people to put out their cigs on the dot of 12:01 paddy20? not to mention the not paying attention to news thing, christ youre getting more senile by the day

This just gets better and better, and I am loving every Anti- Paddy20 post. The Craic is mighty, sheer magic.

As for smoking, well as an ex-smoker!. I stopped in November 1999. I really enjoy standing up for smokers rights. If its legal to buy them, then logically it should be legal to smoke them. Particularly, in a Pub that sells them ?..

Like it or lump it. Thats my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Okay, fair enough, but that isn't what this thread is about.

    Yeah, its January 1st, 2004.

People are smoking like mad in my local, and the best of luck to them. Whatever happened to the strict enforcement of the 'Smoking Ban' ?... MoaaaawHaaaHaaaHaa.. :)

    You're such a retard.

    You're perfectly right...

And by that logic, I'm going to go into town tomorrow, buy a big bottle of gin, and sit in the middle of the shop drinking it.
Might get a few beers aswell for the trip home.

Sure, if its legal to buy drink, then logically it should be legal for me to drink it.
Particularly in a shop that sells it.

    Exactly Angelwhore.

The whole point of the ban is so non-smokers can breathe basically. I have no problem with people who smoke, thats their choice and fair enough if they choose to. But why should I have to breathe in that ****e too? and have a smell of my clothes etc?!

Its bad enough when you're out for a pint but sitting in a restaurant trying to have a meal and being bombarded with smoke is sickening

    AngelWhore,

    Absolutely.

By your logic i could say that its legal to buy a gun in a gunshop and shoot everyone in it....

I don't care if someone corrected you on this one, but are you serious!??
When did the Government ever say they are going to ban smoking in Pubs on Jan 1st? If that were the case barstaff would leave their posts @00.01 01st of Jan inthe pubs and go around asking people to extinguish their ciggerettes. Think before you type the next time please..

And by the way brains, I smoke, most of my friends smoke and some of my co-workers too, and none of them think this ban is a bad idea. You obviously haven't been going to pubs for long have you!? It may be awkward for those to go outside and have a smoke, but it's their own choice. I for one would feel alot better the next morning when I don't have to clear my troath every 2 minutes. And maybe it'll help people quit, many times I have quit only to be tempted the most when I'm in a smokey pub and everyone else is smoking. Think man, think.

Maybe that's the problem, too much lager has destroyed his brain.

Oh my God! Thanks man, Jees, I'll never touch a smoke again!
Up until now I though smoking was good for my health, and that it
    helped me breath easier... madness.

    Monday 26th January 2004.

And what were you right about? That smoking is bad for you!? Well done.

Quote; Our Minister of Health, " I intend to introduce the ban from January 1st 2004 "

Now L4, go back to school or college where you just might get some badly needed education and [who knows!, maybe the decency required to admit it, when you are wrong!.

I know our current government Ministers are not exactly perfect role models, but that is no reason for you to follow them.

What did I say? Huh? 26th, repeat after me, twenty sixth.
You can qoute all you like, who is right? Me, that's who. Just
because you read it somewhere doesn't make it cold hard fact.
I remember the Minister's speach, signed to law to come into
effect JAN 26th 2004. Subject to possible delays, get a grip man,
go back to reading the Sun einsteen.

    L4,

You should join a political party. You are obviously well qualified already for becoming a politician, and this Country could really do with more like you. God help us!.

What do you base this theory on? All that I suggested you do is read your tabloids and/or grow up. I think your nuts tbh. You probably believe everything you've ever read, I feel sorry for you.
