What race is Yoda?

Just watched the end of Phantom Menace on TV and it occurred to me, I don't actually know what race Yoda is. Is there such a thing as a Dagoban? Apart from the master himself and a younger, pinker Yoda lookalike in the final scene of PM I don't recall seeing any others like him in the five movies.

As far as I know, it's never been officially been stated what race he was, as he was supposed to be somewhat unique and mysterious.

Thats it . Knowbody knows Yoda's background . Including Yoda himself . I think because he is so old and that . I also think its because they ould be arsed coming up with it

the younger pinker one was called yaddle and she is a female of the same species as yoda.

I played Knights of the Old Republic on the Xbox and it had a creature that looked similar to yoda. Can't remember if it gave any clue to where he was from and wat species he is.

Does anyone here have a concept or image of wat a bothan looks like?

I'm reading Specter of the Past and the story is about them.
