    Some actual sunshine today.

Also, tried my hand at making Oreo rice cakes for out on the bike. Turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself 😀

Taste wise, maybe. Looks wise... A fist full of churning maggots frozen in that stuff they used on hand solo… 🤢

So last week was a UCI pro race passing my front door, today was a local sportive in the morning with a choice of 70 or 125km gravel and 120km road routes for less than a fiver. Sportives here are fast and furious. Then in the evening all roads in the village were closed again for about 4 hours for an open 4 up time trial race over 5 laps of a 3km route of the village. Each team got a motorcylmotorcycle out rider and 5 teams would go off at 30 second intervals.

Marquees were up in the village green with beer, waffles and frites and a sizeable crowd hung around. It's an annual event in memory of Karel Kaers who was from the village and still holds the record for being the youngest ever World Road Cycling Champion when he won it back in the 30s when he was 20

The frame is a Seaboard CX07, got it on AliExpress for pretty cheap. Been riding it now for about 5 or so months, no issues to report.

Legan Rock. Site of a penal era secret church. Still does the odd wedding/ blessing I believe though you'd want to be lucky with the weather!

And on the Royal Canal Greenway outside Ballymahon. Some of the bridges still have their original paving/haven't been used in decades. Well worth a visit.

I love that Beech lined section heading into Manor Kilbride, possibly planted to frame the entrance/avenue into the manor itself.

Weather in Belgium was a bit 'warm' today. Several local sportives in Belgium and Netherlands cancelled the longer routes due to temperatures. Waited until evening time to head out and stumbled across the oddest little world cup fan park. It was literally 5km from anywhere on an off road cycle path. Hence crazy amount of bikes.

Been down it so so many times, I think they're so well protected and buffeted by whats between them and the village and the prevailing wind they'll always stand 😍

New to this so more of a photo after cycling. If today ends up the hottest day ever recorded in Ireland it'll be nice to say I cycled that day.

I'm after 2 years of recurring chest and throat infections so only back cycling 3 weeks, also turned 50 in March. Did a 30 mile loop around Portlaoise, Mountmellick and Portarlington. Flat terrain.
