He told me that everything was going well with my vetting and that it wouldn't take long for it to be cleared. Now 2 months have passed and I have heard absolutely nothing from HR.

    Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone here was asked by the Garda medical team to provide additional medical information (for example, a hearing test, eye test, blood pressure report, etc.)

If so, how long did it take for them to review the new information and get back to you?

I was asked to submit a second audiology report. Both the audiologist and my GP stated that my hearing is within normal limits, and I have already sent all the requested documentation.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did the Garda medical team accept the additional hearing report, or were you asked for anything else afterwards?
Find bellow my hearing test, do you think that will be grand?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I had to submit an additional eye test from my own opticians which she passed me . I sent it off on the 6th of May and on the 19th they emailed me back saying the medical was passed. So not really a long wait .

if it’s any consolation i got 45/50 on average for the interview, have held the same job for 5 years, no convictions apart from 2 penalty points. Never done anything wrong nor has my family members and still waiting. I honestly could not tell you what or why it’s taking so long and I would nearly withdraw my application so I can focus on going back to college.

Personally I think they don’t have enough space in the college or lack of funding. That’s all I can think of, no idea what the yearly budget is for Garda recruits. The should of used 3 or 4 million of the Childrens Hospital budget to make the college bigger, would be a better use of taxpayer money instead of spending it on the worlds most expensive hospital that half of it has to be redone anyways due to cutting corners and using cheap material that doesn’t even meet the minimum requirements.

It comes down to luck. I think they will soon start contacting people for the July intake, from what I know some people dont have a station interview so that may be your case.

If I dont receive an offer for this intake I will stop worrying about it and move on with my life. This was easily the worst recruitment process I have ever heard of/experienced in my life.

How long have you been waiting?

Edsjd227 any word back from the TD's ?

this whole process puts you in the most stupid life position possible, cannot plan ahead, cannot move abroad, cannot take a big gamble like going back to college. You can’t really chance anything.

Couldn’t agree more, the worst is really not having any updates so we can plan ahead.

Does your family have any history outside of ireland? It seems to me that those that only have family in Ireland are favoured.

Had to send extra medical clarification which will be ok. Sent everything 3 weeks ago and haven’t heard back.

Do Garda Medical usually confirm you’re cleared, or is no news generally good news??

I done my medical before the running test. Then heard nothing after that for 8 months until the last day when I done a station interview.

My son got a conditional offer for the July intake today. So I suppose that means he could be failed yet. For him every stage was really quick with the only delay in the process when he was given time to loose a big chunk of weight (which he obviously did). He's very happy. Fingers crossed on the vetting.

Has anyone requested the contact info for the third party undertaking the vetting? See if its possible to speak to them directly and see what the process is or why its taking so long.

It's fascinating that one person who applies in a later campaign can get in so quickly while others in the same campaign or earlier ones are left waiting.

@Darragh121 when did you send over your vetting? I sent mine on the 12th Feb, that is all that is outstanding.
