Greystones North Beach. I am lucky to be able to get here regularly and at that time. Been up since about 5. This quiet time, at this time of the year, in this weather, it's as good as it gets.

Happy solstice. Was at 9:24am, so the sun has begun its slow long march south.....… and the long road to winter has begun😜

Lovely run earlier. Nice and sunny not much heat as the breeze really takes any warmth away.

Did the Ireland's Eye cruise earlier and there was hardly a breeze out at sea. Was about as perfect as you could ask for.

Isn't it a mad auld country we live in?

Horrendous start to June worst I ever remember.

Friday we had biblical rain, streets turned into river in minutes.

Then last two days is like been abroad, very unusually because as we know here if we get stuck in one of those negeative cycles can stay with us for the whole summer.

    BBQ number 2. What's rare is beautiful😁😎

This weekend is just perfect summer weather for me. Sunny and warm with some big white fluffy clouds to provide some occasional shade. Not too hot and a little breeze from time to time. Love it.

    Happy Midsummer Solstice @DellyBelly 😉

    Freshly cut sods.

How long will it take that to dry before you can bring it home to the shed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,950 ✭✭✭✭Cluedo Monopoly

It's not mine but those sods were particularly soft and wet. It will have to be turned and footed before it starts to properly dry out. When to bring it in will really depend on the weather but the coming week will help a lot.

Flew back home this morning Alicante-Kerry. What wonderful timing! For once went from summer to summer, from blue sky to blue sky and a fairly comparable real feel in temps. Off the plane to ice creams and lounging all day in the garden. Bliss 😎

Weather people please inform me. Today we were athletics in Tullamore where the weather was stiffeling hot and calm, then some cloud cover would come and make things more comfortable again.

During the hot phase the it suddenly got very windy (totally out of place of the form all day) for 20/30 seconds to which a persons baseball hat was taken and flew up in the air (30/40 metres). Its stayed high for about 100m before dropping. Then the wind calmed down and back to blistering heat.

Was this some wind devil? A first occurrence for me at least

    Wow. Cork city centre.

Although in my experience the ME forecast never really matches the observed temps. Perhaps it might be that the official Cork station is at the airport, which has a higher elevation?

Ireland going over 30 degrees in both May and June back to back, impressive stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,706 ✭✭✭✭sryanbruen

The only times Ireland had 30C in back to back months were June/July 1976 (the same overlapping spell) and July/August 2022 (two different spells). June and August 1995 had 30C separated by a 28C in July.
