Thinking of getting one of these little yokes to use as a media centre in the living room. My old WD media Live is really showing her age these days and she's limited to x264 as well. I won't be expecting too much. But they run Windows 11 out of the box and can be used to stream the likes of VLC to the TV by the looks of things.

I have no idea about them at all or their makers, Acemagician, Firebat, etc. Never heard of any of them.

Anyone on here have any experience with these?

yes,

I have a Minusforum attached to the back of my telly

its running Win 11 pro on an Intel Core i9-12900HK with 32 Gb RAM and runs great.

I got it ast year so the only thing to consider these days is the prices have gone up a good bit.

Some to consider are MinisForum, GMKtec, Geekom, Beelink

Theyre great if your stuck for space.

Prices go from about 200 to 1600 euros. Some are Bare Bones so youd have to add your own storage, RAM and OS

Yeah, the uptick in RAM and storage prices has been a real bugger.

I've been using a Beelink SER 5 for the last couple of years as a MediaPortal client in the bedroom , no complaints about it and it runs pretty much silent :)
