begrudgery in Ireland

What's up with the begrudgery in Ireland towards D4 accents or any posh accents? I'm not originally from here but have lived in several other countries and lived in Deansgrange before moving to Meath.

I heard that Irish culture had a problem with begrudery but I never understood it when it came to accents. If you go on Reddit or even in real life and ask people what the worst accent is, the majority of replies will be the RTE/Dort accent.

I know it's not a natural accent but I'd take it over a flat Dub accent anyday. I find it weird as posh/"proper" accents are usually admired in probably every other country.
