One person dies after two passenger trains collide south of Bedford (UK)

    Two trains owned by East Midlands Railways have been involved in a collision between Luton & Bedford.

    British Transport Police are advising people to avoid the area.

    Thameslink are urging people not to travel.

    Many casualties are involved in the incident according to Police. 1 driver has reported to be killed in the collision.

    I'm looking at UKtrains subreddit on Reddit. A poster on there has confirmed within the past 20 minutes that there were fatalities in this collision involving two passengers between Bedford & Luton. How many fatalities were involved? Is it not known yet at this time.

    The Times has reported that one of the train drivers involved in this collision has died. RIP.

    Quite a lot of injuries being reported by Sky News from the rail collision in Bedford this evening.

    11 people have very serious injuries, 22 people have serious injuries & 56 people have minor injuries.

    Paramedics: 89 hurt, 11 with 'very serious injuries' after collision

    We can bring you more details on those injured in today's train collision, with East of England Ambulance Service saying that 11 people suffered very serious injuries.

    The emergency service added 22 people were seriously injured and a further 56 suffered minor injuries.

    "All patients with the most serious injuries have now been taken from the scene to hospital," a spokesperson said.

    They added that more than 20 ambulances, specialist Hazardous Area Response Teams, and six air ambulances were deployed in response to the incident.
