the 2025 ATN final poster had 115 acts on it (not counting non music)

the current poster has 71 acts on it.

so i think we can be guaranteed there will be more announcements in the coming weeks.

    49th & Main likely there I'd say.

We are definitely light on main announcements, it's usually over 2 big drops, this year we seem to have had 1 and a quarter announcements so expecting another semi big drop at some stage in June/July.

Kurt Vile and/or Overmono would be lovely

Devastated I missed Overmono at Primavera so hoping for them too. Can't help but think they'd have been announced by now though.. although a few surprise shows for new album in August could happen.

I was at them, I don't know how many people were there (it felt like 2/300 only) at the huge Occident stage as people didnt seem to want to stay out braving the weather (tbh I felt well built for it from Irish festivals), same stage had Olivia Rodrigo 2 days later. I strolled right up to the front barrier at 3/4am in the morning for the last half of their set, and it was immense. Best performance of the night, I seen some people earlier in the thread being critical of them and but live wise they really seemed excellent, also felt very live with elements/synths dropping in and out, the people who did brave the elements all seemed to enjoy it too so the buzz was good, they were better than Yousuke Yoshimatsu who came on the opposite stage just after between half 4 and 6am thought his set choice was a bit safe but had a few good songs all the same, although Yosuke killed it at ATN last year one of my favourite sets of the weekend. They would be a great booking for ATN imo.

Just checked they have shows on Friday in Denmark and Saturday in Italy. So it would have to be Sunday. Probably unlikley but stranger things have happened I guess.

They had a fairly big touring rig gear wise so unless it was a DJ set I'd say very slim, I really enjoyed Bicep last year sorta felt like the old EP Dance headliner slot, find some similarities between Bicep and Overmono too music wise, they would have fit well, maybe next year.

I found Horace Andy mind blowing at Beyond the Pale and I'm looking forward to Barrington Levy who I presume will play the Wailers slot from a few years back at ATN. Fair play to BTP and ATN from bringing the Sunday evening reggae acts back, I love me some live reggae.

They could be holding back an announcement for who's playing the old other days stage, that's normally included in the main announcements so that may be a reason.

i think those two dates are dj sets but yeh might be a bit much to do all that in 3 days. hoepfully main announcement comes tomorrow. sick of waiting!!

those were strong additions to a stacked card last year but we need a bit better than that for this announcement imo. we are light on mid tier acts. fingers crossed but im a little bit worried!

seen a few btp vids, the cupra stage in the forest looked deadly. atn missing a trick not having something similar. i know its likely down to sponsors but ava in a similar setting would be much better than the current offering.

Could really do with an announcement today so I can forget about the FOMO missing Metallica!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,039 ✭✭✭Fanirish

they won’t be one today as it’s Fontaines D.C. manager funeral. Irish Music industry will all be present at that.

Very sad too, the industry is a pretty tightly knit community so everyone knows everyone.

In my opinion, and I repeat, MY Opinion, the lineup screams bargain basement, especially when compared with pod promoted lineups that also had a 35,000 capacity. Yes, I understand times change, the business is a different beast these days, I suppose I just miss the days of a more diverse lineup that also had stages full all day, the mainstage being empty early in the day is criminal, but I suppose that's down to the acts not being there to fill it early on. Again, just an opinion, I'll still go and enjoy the weekend, but an old man can shout at the clouds from time to time!

I would love if BALTHVS were announced. Looking at their tour schedule this summer, they are in europe for a week in early july and then back in canada, but a big gap for a month between july 20 and aug 20. Maybe their taking a break, or hopefully theyre doing a few euro festivals in that time.

for anyone not into them, think Khruangbin / Glass beams / santana / arc de soleil had a wonderful messy orgy

as you said, times change. Costs are hitting all sides. Operational costs have skyrocketed for festivals in last few years, the cost for artists to tour have skyrocketed so they require bigger fees and thus eats into festival budgets so they have to book less or rely on djs etc which are considerably cheaper. Festival promoters have to balance fine line of affordable price and enough artists to placate their audience.
artists also know their worth these days, so are naturally squeezing every euro out of promoters if you are an arena level act in high demand.

I’d be very happy with BALTHVS, been listening to them for a while and they’d fit the festival really well. We’ve also not had khruangbin at ATM yet (that I remember anyway) so I’ll take those too!

I'd love to see acts like Joey Valence & Brae.

I do like catching the odd DJ type set but it gets so frustrating that after 11pm there's not much else on offer.

More bands after dark would be great too.

One of the highlights this year, serious upgrade to the woods and the flow of people in/out, made a huge difference, the weather helped also, dry ground etc but they nailed the vibe in there, music was perfect, wrapped up my weekend seeing Irvine Welsch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 752 ✭✭✭Blackie_IRL

Yikes, knew the 2nd drop last year was big but forgot how big, there must be a huge drop of acts to come with the next main announcement and as someone else has suggested it could well be tied in with the new stage (rebranded lovely days)
