    They mentioned in the Ecuador match that Caicado was sent off in their last qualifier but because Ronaldo got away with it he did also

    They got a lot of time to take that corner. Remember the time limit for CL final. Does this not apply in WC.

    Wasnt the player down injured from the Fernandes challenge ? Had to allow for that probably. Not sure if there was treatment or off the pitch etc

    I would love to know the mainland Portuguese fans reaction to this. We had a holiday last year in Madeira (where he is from) and he is a waking god. They see no issues with him at all. This from conversations with various Bolt (like Uber) drivers and the odd barman. His statue which is outside his hotel (poor man's hotel) which we saw was a joke but that's not how it's seen locally. Hell they even named their airport after him.

    Portugal blessed.

    Literally playing with 10men without the ball. Ronaldo completely static with the Congo pushed up. Only enough movement to be waving his arms at his teammates.

    He really needs to step up here

    I see Gareth Bale has come out criticising the lack of sanction for Messi foul last night. More or less saying referees are afraid to take action due to outside pressures. Whoever knocks Argentina out will have to overcome both on field and off field challenges.
