Todays waffle, mostly decent sources, some very worrying links, Berge in particular.

United are currently FOCUSING their efforts on Mateus Fernandes, also of West Ham, as talks through his agent Jorge Mendes ADVANCE, with personal terms not anticipated to prove an issue. #MUFC [@David_Ornstein]————

mufc are paying serious attention to Crysencio Summerville, and have enquired about his situation. He ranks high among the options for left-wing.

United will be aware that it is expected to cost approximately £50m [@David_Ornstein]—————-

ManchesterUnited’s midfielder Manuel #Ugarte has been offered to #ACMilan. Coach Amorim knows him since they were together at SportingCP. No talks ongoing yet, but just a proposal. #transfers #MUFC

    @NicoSchira ————————

As things stand, Marcus Rashford will return to #mufc next month and it is unclear whether a move happens before the window comes to a close.

Another switch to Barca is not completely discounted, nor the idea of fellow European sides pursuing the England attacker, although United intend only to entertain permanent solutions. [@David_Ornstein]——————

Manchester United have explored a move for Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who will become a free agent this summer.

Sam Johnstone is another option, with two years remaining on his deal at Wolves.

    [@TheAthleticFC] #MUFC

    ——————

Fulham midfielder Sander Berge is another player that #mufc are considering signing. Fulham would want to make a profit on the £25m they paid two years ago. [@TheAthleticFC

    ——————

Manchester United’s interest in Lewis Hall remains, although Newcastle United are not looking to sell.

United may still seek to strengthen the left-wing rather than left-back, with Patrick Dorgu able to cover either position.

    [@TheAthleticFC] #MUFC——————

Manchester United are OPEN TO LISTENING TO OFFERS for Manuel Ugarte and Joshua Zirkzee.

    [@TheAthleticFC] #MUFC

    ——————-

A £40m clause available to all, EXCEPT Liverpool & Man City to sign Marcus Rashford.

A number of PL teams have expressed interest IN SIGNING him.

His preference is to honour the remaining 24 months at United RATHER THAN JOIN ANOTHER English team.

    [@David_Ornstein] #MUFC——————

Andre Onana is SET TO RETURN to Carrington when training resumes next month following his loan spell at Trabzonspor.

Trabzonspor's president, Ertugrul Dogan, has expressed a desire to RE-SIGN Onana.

There is NOT MUCH INTEREST from other parties.

    [@David_Ornstein] #MUFC——————

Amorim can't complain he wasn't given time. He was kept on after finishing 15th and losing the EL to fukn Spurs. Playing Bruno deep and binning off Mainoo while moaning about the squad. He doesn't admit his own failings at all, and that's a disaster for anyone in a leadership role. Anyway, he's old news.

The fruits were never coming. He didn’t have it in him. He will be remembered for his time at United as a quitter and not much more. As much as he wants to blame the club, that’s on him.

“I deserved more time and more backing to show what this team could have become.”

Funny how it took Carrick just two games to show what the team could do, convincingly beating City and a big win away to Arsenal. Then went on to make that 4 wins in a row. Something Amorim could never achieve.

Miracles? Nobody wanted miracles, but winning a few football games would have been very nice.

Some of you are still very fond of him. He’s a charming guy, he had me for a long time, but at the end of the day he was a lot more bark than bite at United. He won’t get away with “first we need to suffer” comments in Milan. Good luck to him (sincerely), hopefully he does well for his own sake and his future as a coach.

Anderson was one of those PSR moves iirc? Could that be coming into play with the early moves - it could help the selling club which financial year the transaction falls.

Amorim is taking up a new role at a different club. He isn't going to begin there by admitting he underperformed at his last job. He would undermine himself at his new club right from the start. The narrative that he was on the verge of greatness but was undermined is better for him when it comes to inspiring confidence. The one thing he could have done without any cost to himself was thank the fans for the support he received.

I wouldn't consider us being in for Berge worrying at all IF he's seen as a backup / Ugarte replacement. I think that would be a great bit of business and a big upgrade on Ugarte.

PL experience, has impressed me when I've watched him, fee would probably be reasonable / on a par with what we would get for Ugarte hopefully.

Playing Bruno out of his best position was a big mark against Amorim for me

But he clearly did good stuff as well in terms of cleaning up the culture. The progress always looked very fragile rather than a solid consistent trend for me. But let's be honest it's a tough job so no shame in it not working out or being a fit, doesn't make him a bad manager, just not right for what we need

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,872 ✭✭✭caviardreams

Actually don't mind Berge as a squad option if the priice is decent (e.g. 3rd mid with Fernandes & Ederson)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,697 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

He didn't have to talk about his old club at all, beyond vague platitudes about thanking the players but focusing on his new club now.

Instead he has a whinge about miracles and not getting backed. He didn't have to say any of that, but like I said its very on brand for the guy who repeatedly **** on his own players in media interviews. He can't resist any opportunity to blame everybody but himself.

Big shock we're suddenly linked with a lad who scored in the world cup yesterday.

If we’re to get anyone from Newcastle this summer, I’d rather get Lewis Hall

No chance Newcastle sell us both

All this chat over fake amorim quotes.

    Oh my.

Bollocks to be honest and completely rewriting history. Performances were not muck, players were improving, no he didnt get enough time and they were pretty much the worst squad we ever had in the prem.

Look people can bury their heads in the sand all they like, it's no skin off my back. He could have taken the easy way out and changed shape and got immediate results but he felt that it would have been to the longer detriment to the team and I agree. The club knew what he was and how he played when they hired him. Wilcox and Berrada got shaky knees and didn't stick it out.

Hopefully we have stumbled into Carrick who is one of the next top coaches. The results under him have been nothing short of fantastic. I'd argue a number of the performances were really poor and that how we were playing was not sustainable for success but we are going to find out who's right and wrong. I really hope I'm wrong.

Were they fake? My fault - should have checked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 49,513 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Maybe they are real but I've seen zero about them online so I'm assuming they are fake.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,217 ✭✭✭jayo44

Yeah I haven't seen any amorim comments anywhere online a paper from here and one or two dodge twitter folk.

Just goes to show how easy it is to go all in one made up news.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,697 ✭✭✭✭bucketybuck

I could go through all the ways in which Amorim made a bollocks of the team, but what would be the point, it has all been said before and there has always been a subset who couldn't see what was in front of them.

What will always be a mystery is why fans hated Ten Hag, let Amorim away with murder, but will rediscover their basic expectations now that Carrick is in.

My memory of Amorin was when we were under pressure in penalty shootouts he was hiding in the dugouts with his head in his hands, first time I seen it I started thinking this club is too big for this manager. Couldn't believe what I was looking at

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭Charlie69

I know, it’s hilarious to read about how “on brand “ all of the stuff made up by another poster has turned out to be in relation to Amorim.

    MUFC Tweets 16.06.2026

@NathSalt1 : “United are looking at a lot of players like EVERY DAY there's more players that come out. They're doing their due diligence from people I speak to at the club. They're pretty relaxed, pretty PATIENT”. #MUFC [@StretfordPaddck ]

Nath Salt on Crysencio Summerville: “He is a player I actually rate quite HIGHLY. I think he's really good.

“He is more of an orthodox winger than United have. I don't think they have a player who is as comfortable out wide as he would be.

“And that's not to say they get him or they don't get him, but he's one of those players I think if he ended up at another Big Six team, he would do well.” #MUFC [@StretfordPaddck]

Manchester United recently made enquiries for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ismael Saibari, . However, the 25-year-old’s representatives have communicated that an agreement is already in place with Bayern Munich.

if this tonali bizarreness to spurs actually happens, we will be left holdig our dick still trying to piss.

no tonali cos we said he would be too expensive

no hall cos newcastle would have already made their money for no europe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,829 ✭✭✭scottser

Tonali isn't worth 100m, certainly not for what we want but he'll be decent for Spurs. They are also in for van Hecke - they've certainly laid down a marker for this window.

As for Hall, he's a good LB but he's not the only LB in the world. We do have a problem if we don't sign a LB though; I'm not impressed at the idea of Dorgu and Shaw being the only options.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 16,584 ✭✭✭✭loyatemu

Is Mazroui not an option, he's playing LB for Morocco.
