Heuston-Galway train reliability weekday mornings (or alternative suggestions to Tullamore)

Is the 7.35 Heuston-Galway train reliable? Or is there anything like bustimes.org to check rail reliability for the past couple of days to reassure myself?

I must be in Tullamore on a weekday for a 9.15am meeting. I don't know whether to trust this 7.35 train which gets in at 8.32, or if I need to get the 5.45 and be stuck waiting from 6.45 -this also poses further problems of how to get from Celbridge to Heuston for 5.45, as the first C4 would be cutting it very fine. There doesn't seem to be any good bus options at this time either that I can find - it's all in the other direction or requiring 3+ connections.

I'd appreciate any advice on the above or alternative suggestions. Thanks.

really depends on how important the meeting is and is it near the railway station?

Yes, less than 10 minutes walk from the station. It's important! I'm a person who is always early. I'd be happy with getting to Tullamore by 7.45 even, but 6.45 is extremely early and also will probably require a taxi to Heuston to start with.

It is very reliable, especially to Tullamore, as this is only the second crossing on the single track, so not likely to pick up much delays.

I would say 90% of times will on time to 10 late. And the other 10% not much more.

You can also check in the morning on the live trains section on Irish Rail and put in Tullamore before its scheduled arrival and see how it goes.

You have a 30 minute buffer, 0735 will get you there with plenty of time to spare even if a delay occurs.

Zoom? I know some crowds think in person is better, it really isn't. Commuting, rushing and people in general is a PITA

Thanks for the information here, it was helpful. Although the 7.35 train does seem reliable based on what I've seen this week on the Live Trains tracker, I've decided not to risk it. The whole thing just seems too awkward, so I'm not going to go ahead with the meeting or proposed work in Tullamore at all. Just not worth the hassle in the long run!
