And a print dialog on chrome, but when I came across the section in the source of the page before, It would trigger both actions. It is not triggering now because the 'format menu' option is absent from the page and not just hidden somewhere.

Back on mobile as well, the shortcut key is only high lightening the icon and not opening the menu, like it use to before (from what I remember).

Edit: Culprit narrowed down to 'telemetry.sdk.inmobi.com'

Firefox nightly now showing this prompt from some injected js content, it appears to be triggered by the InMobi consent/CMP code that is dynamically injected into the page?

    image.png

It is NOT triggered by my extension, because it is triggered before my extension fires, and present when that is disabled.

    Could you:

    1. Check your InMobi CMP configuration for www.boards.ie (property ID like Ssqy1r23e-aZu), and
    2. Verify with InMobi whether their current script for your site is expected to trigger any device‑level or “local network / app access” permissions in browsers?

If this is unintended for the web site, it might require either:

    • Adjusting the CMP configuration for Boards, or
    • Updating/removing whatever CMP feature is causing Firefox Nightly to ask for “access other apps and services.”

Still having inconsistent notification problems. I'd say I'm getting about 20% of mine. If I wasn't using the BES extension, I wouldn't be seeing most things I'm following.

Count yourself lucky I'm getting one or two a day

And after been told by an AI that it was impossible to change browser default shortcuts keys!

Found this option in a reddit post (firefox): - 'about:keyboard' ~ "This feature is experimental and may not work as expected."

Anyone know a similar method for chrome?

Can't flag report posts on desktop Chrome - no report reason options available.

    Working ok on Android mobile.

    Edit - seems resolved.

This is a new one. Happened when I went to quote someone last night. Worked ok on second attempt.

Email notifications of new posts seems to be up and running again since yesterday.

Not for me. Loads more are working but about 30% still don't show up.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Looks like chrome natively won't support shortcut keys change, but there are key-remapping extensions from the Chrome Web Store, such as Shortkeys or AutoControl.

Re: bugs/missing features - last 2 or 3 weeks cursor is no longer active in quick reply box (have to click over there to make it active), same with "insert embed" thingy. And both previously worked. Opera on desktop.

@joujoujou Aware of extensions, I was just hoping someone new of embed chrome way of handling them.

    same with "insert embed" thingy.

    image.png

It is off to the side of the screen, but you can just paste the embed in forums for the site to handle them.

They fixed the embed popup. But the question mark is which sites are supported?

    image.png

The only site I know of is twitter embed urls but you can just paste into the comment box and the site will convert them to embeds anyway.

Were you getting a gateway timeout? Would you happen to have a screen shot of the error message. I can forward to Vanilla for testing and cause finding.

At about 10am I got a page with Site Maintenance, think that is the one with the orange writing.
I hit refresh on the tab a few minutes later and pages loaded ok.

Having issues since yesterday of written posts not submitting and disappearing then when page refreshed unless I have saved it as a draft .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 18,625 ✭✭✭✭Goldengirl

Read the recent update from Mike that something will be happening soon re Vanilla .

Heard this before (sorry Mike ).

Still having a lot of problems despite some that are improved

    Improved ( for me !)

    Jumpiness settled .

Threads being borked /not moving on .

Notifications returned to normal after a blip .

When you go to a thread to see the most recent posts and you are brought to the top of the page . This is not happening all the time now for me.

    As bad as ever

The cursor moving to the beginning of the sentence or phrase causing jumbled up words which have to be deleted and retyped.( retyped this sentence twice 🙃) This is like torture at this stage its going on so long .

Bookmarked threads keep closing every time you refresh on tablet .

Long posts that disappear from the comment box when you submit them, never to be seen again .

Just thought I would post this for reference .

If anyone has anymore to add ?

if you go into a thread with a lot of unread posts, say 5 pages and read 1 page it'll mark the whole thread as read

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 19,887 ✭✭✭✭elperello

    It's always been like that.

If you want to read the other four pages just click back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,707 ✭✭✭batistuta9

no it hasn't, it should remember where you last read up to. if you leave it then another while then you won't remember what page you read up to

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 81,084 Mod ✭✭✭✭New Home

Of course it shouldn't, but it's been doing that for years. Unfortunately. And it's been widely reported.

Only since change to vanilla - I would have breaks due to work and it would always bring me to the right spot a few years back..

We unfortunately have a new normal, some stuff resolved, some new things the same etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,707 ✭✭✭batistuta9

the more posts in the thread the worse it is, don't think it happens in all threads either

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,310 ✭✭✭✭thesandeman

It only started happening within the last year. I remember flagging it when it started first but nothing was done.

For some users it's been years that's why they created the second 'registered users' under our account - pages and permissions went bonkers

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
