what do you want to achieve. ?

Only outcome is that they get struck off and you don’t get the grant. So it’s costs you €1800

Got this quote this morning. The company is large and well known from what I gather. The Engineer spent about an hour with me. TBH I was a bit shocked with the price, especially when you consider the fact that he added their own company "discount." Any thoughts?

    14 Panels, 5Kwh String Inverter

    12,780

Duracell 10Kwh Battery inc Hybrid Inverter upgrade

    6,935

    BER

    360

    Cable Run

    350

    Total

    20,425

    Discount

    2,553

    Grant

    1,800

    Final

    16,072

    Hi,

I got this quote earlier :

    12x TCL solar 445 watt panels (HSM-BD54-DA445 )

    1x AIO 5500 1PH inverter (AIO konnect)

    1x AIO 5500 1PH battery (AIO konnect) 5kw

    €12095

If I upgrade to 10 kw battery €13095

Our house was built after 21 so no grant

expensive. Even without the grant you should be able to do much better than that.

    Hi,

Opinions on the following quote please?

    10.12kw Ground Mounted System:

    22 x 460w Leapton Panels

    Solis S5 Hybrid 5Kw Inverter

    Dyness 5.12kwh Battery

    €11,150 Net

This is my first quote, I am getting a site survey done on Saturday from another company so will have something to compare it to then but just wanted to see what people think.

    Thanks.

    Hi All,

Got 3 quotes, all similar. Just looking for opinions on what might be best.

    1. 14x460 watt Jinko panels. 5kw Solis hybrid inverter. €6,800
    2. 14x445 watt TCL panels. 5kw AiO Konnect inverter. €7,400
    3. 14x445 watt TCL panels. 5kw Solis hybrid inverter. €7,000

No battery - potentially to be added later if needed.

Since the price is quite similar for all 3 I'm wondering is there any difference in the inverter? Is AiO better than Solis?

    Thanks!

Solis inverters are pretty bullet-proof… lots have them installed and haven't heard any complaints.

Quote 1 seems the best value. Check out the installers list for reviews and go with that .

Also, there's no VAT on batteries if they are installed at the same time, but you'll have to pay it when adding one later.

At this point a "discount" in a quote is a red flag for me… lol

    they are taken the piss.
i got 14 panels and a 5kwh invertor for 5800 before the grant. This time last year.

Is it Activ8? If so they are well known for being over priced.

    How does this quote look?

    19 x Astronergy - CHINT Solar 465 Watt Panels

    1 x Sigen Hybrid 5Kw SP2 (Sigenergy)

1 x Eddie Hot Water Diverter

€8,450 after the grant. Seems expensive to me for no battery included, or am I off the mark?

    Its expensive.

Don't see why you'd get a hot water diverter, just turn the immersion on if you want hot water and the sun is shining. Turn it off if you don't.

Thanks. I was thinking it was expensive.

The setup is for an older couple who want the least mount of input as possible and feel the hot water diverter will take the hassle out of having to worry about turning on / off immersion and so on. They basically just want to be able to forget about it.

How is the water currently heated? Generally it's cheaper to keep heating it that way and just export the excess

    Is this a good price?

I think its expensive. In March I got quoted from a midlands based company for 14 panels, a sig inverter and the Sig "10" battery for over €2000 cheaper than this after Grant. Additional panels should be about €200 each so its about €1600-1800 more than the quote I got. I didnt proceed with this qoute so no idea what the company was like to deal with, but they have a good reputation as far as I know.

We got 15 Longi panels, solis invertor 10KW battery, incl. fireman's switch, and BER for €8,610 after grant so €10,410 before grant a month ago. Yours look dear.

I don't think its good. My opinion based on own price Apr 2025 of €7800 for galvanised roof mounted 24x440W 10.56 kWp and Sigen 5.75kW inverter with cell data, no tails upgrade, no battery. Allow difference either way of €150/panel installed. On balance I think I would have preferred say a Solis inverter with flexiibility to get Sodium batteries later.
