Folks, anyone have any experience with supplier heatpump.eu? I'm looking at Kwikot Monoblock Heat Pump 8kW | R290, a unit made by Haier. Seems to be a nice price point compared to some of the bigger names.

Oil boiler went kaput, and looking to go all electric.

Get one for every room you want to monitor I suppose

Graham Hendra is now promoting the Haier so if it is the same Heat Pump must not be too bad but looking at it I dont think it is exactly the same.

With the new grants coming into effect, depending on the work involved, the cost must be nearly covered in a lot of circumstances.

I know looking at ours it would have cost us about €1500.

Hopefully there won't be a lot of profiteering going on.

There definitely will be profiteering, basic supply and demand.

I know nothing about heat pumps, other than, instead of using my Oil CH, that the heat pump uses electricity to hea tthe radiatiors and hot water

We recently got solar in so natuarally moving to a Heat pump would be logical with the new grant

can someone explain what it may cost, the house is your average Semi d - 3 bedroom (converted attic) 8 radiators.

(not sure what else is needed) but if someone can give a roundabout figure even…. am I looking at less than 5k or over?

Guess doesnt need to be close.

    Thanks

Jan 2026 192sqm A3 rated house, UFH downstairs 21.5, upstairs rooms with rads at 19-20 degrees depending on time of day, UFH set to 22.5 degrees over night.

Total 496 Kwh - Day 138 and Night 358 average of16kwh and a max of 35kwh (heating and DHW)

Total cost for the month €89.64

For ref Jan 25 was 550 units, cost of €102.73

Hi, does anyone have average electricity usage for a heat pump for a (136 sqaure meter) bunbgalow for a ASHP?

I am plannung to get 22 solar panels installed and trying to see if an air source heat pump will work well or not. I should mention, my house was renovated last year to C3 BER, triple glazed windows, attic & cavity wall insulation and 11 new aluminium rads - no underfloor heating, but considering putting it in the main bathroom during next renovation this summer - would it be worth having 1 room with UFH even?

    thanks in advance

With all that insulation & windows and it's only a c3?

I have a hp on a 1980's bungalow with a heatpump and for me it worked out about €500 cheaper than what oil would have been over the winter - assuming oil was bought last autumn.

How much the heatpump costs to run is the heat loss of the house. That and the size of the radiators define the flow temperature, which says how efficient the heatpump can run.

Was the heating designed with a heatpump in mind?

Were the new rads sized for a heat pump system? If not then I'm not sure it would make financial sense to be changing the heating system after just replacing all your rads.

anyone here have a cost comparison of the newer grant aerona refergirant vs a heat pump running on r32 eg. R290 vs R32. I think most of the new daikins are still on the R32 which is abit worrying as this planned to be phased out in the EU. It’s supposed to be a more efficient system with the R290 propane according to the manuals and sales but it would be great to have some real life examples

Really all depends on your designed flow temperature

If it's low 30's r32 will be better

If your pushing 40 and above, r290.

so a mix of underfloor with rads the r290 would be better get more output from the rads. All ufh either or is good. I just ever the old r22 ref, then they moved to r134a and phased this out to r32 now it’s r290. Literally in the space of 15 years it’s gone from r124a to r290, that’s 3 different system in that time. As they phase out the refrigerant then parts servicing becomes and issue as the time passes. They are expensive units to replace but it is annoying the chopping and changing brought on mostly by eu regulations down through the years

hi, the new aluminium rads were sized based on oil heating system, but i have had a couple of quotes and they show only 1 or 2 rads are undersize for a heat pump system. Also, the house currently has a C1 BER not C3 as mentioned earlier with heat loss indicator of 2.273. also planning to get a 10 Kwh solar system installed int he next 3-4 months to cover the electric for the whole house - no electric car, but meybe in the future….

im sure you are aware solar will do great from mid february to end of october but the dark months which coincide with usually the highest demand for heating are going to struggle with solar. If you are trying to cover heatpump running for those months you will most likely need a pretty chunky battery.
