I'm liking these lamb kebabs from Lidl right now. Though should be bigger.

Are they from the frozen section? I might try to get some later.

This evening's menu at chez moi:

Avocado (mashed with chilli flakes, dried basil, sherry vinegar), rye toast, rocket, tomato.

Soup: Beetroot, carrot, spinach with barley miso, kidney beans.

This is a quick soup (or as long as it takes the carrots to cook), with no oil added during cooking. Using the vacuum packed cooked beetroot from Lidl. No stock. The miso does the heavy lifting.

I added a can of mackerel to the soup.

There's homemade red cabbage sauerkraut too.

    Yesterday - Something I can't mess up 😄

(The most glorious food ever created🤌🤤)

Wrap based pizza's. Made with 'Propperoni' which I don't love, but the kiddos do. So I'm learning to love it because of the ingredients

    1000011674.jpg 1000011675.jpg

The red peppers didn't magically disappear in cooking. I made a couple of these and happen to cook one with more yellow pepper than the uncooked picture

    ....…

Ate out earlier today so tonight's 'dinner' was cottage cheese egg wrap..

Scrape of mayo & American mustard, ham, white cheddar, lettuce & tomato

    (& a cuppa because I'm a little bit cold)

They were in the chilled meat section, along with burgers etc..

Skin on mash, fried mushrooms and onions and some cheap lidl chicken steaks or whatever.

    Ribs.

There was mash and pan gravy left over from yesterday, so had that earlier too. That sauce was even better today. It was the nicest gravy I've had (or made) in a long while.

What was supposed to be a Reuben. It was dreadful. Tasteless meat, tasteless sauerkraut, tasteless cheese and tasteless sauce. And the meat was so sinewy, it was inedible. I was so disappointed. And of course I did the Irish thing and told them it was lovely!

Deep fried ice cream for dessert. It was average. I don't know what I was expecting, but it didn't wow me.

Soup for starter - Mixed country fruit in a grape and brandy stock (ok, sangria given the heavenly weather today).

    IMG_20260614_162243.jpg

Main course - homemade airfried beef burger with panfried smashburger. Might do 2 layers of smashburger next time as they were better than I expected.

Making the most of the "summer".

Cold curried potatoes, egg mayonnaise, cous cous, little biscuit cups with guacamole, hummus and peppers, brown soda.

    Apple pie for dessert hopefully.

    Paris Texas in Kilkenny.

I did share a ribs starter and that was nice, but we spent €90 on food and drinks and it just didn't deliver.

Ragu from earlier on in the week … on a baked potato. Not sure you can tart that up much so no pictures. Hit the spot though.

Mussels in Tom Yum broth with tomato, red pepper, curry leaves.

My first time cooking mussels at home. Really good!

Chicken breasts coated in herbs and spices and olive oil. Air fried. Served with coleslaw, potato salad and a toasted brown bread (not pictured).

A quick tandoori burger. Used cherry yoghurt as I didn't have natural. Made no difference to the flavour that I could tell.

Using up yesterday's mussels in Tom Yum broth. I added cabbage, black eye beans, salmon and turmeric.

But good, very good hopefully with tae.

I'll be tae, toast and cheese with some Worcestershire soon

Never heard of that one. I think mine came from SuperValu. I'll check later.

Actually it's this stuff from Aldi. Must go rooting in the press to see if I've any more.

Bought too much salmonella corner milk to fit in my freezer so I'm going to have to have dinner that compliments it for the next couple of days.

Yesterday was McDonald's. Had two long ass days and wasn't in the humour to cook.

    1000029335.jpg

Chicken selects, fries and the Mexican Chipotle chicken burger. The burger was delicious, and the Chipotle mayo was divine. I need to find a recipe for it or similar, I could drink it.

Crispy Gnocchi Crespese Salad with Sausages

Did the gnocchi in the air fryer but they were more chewy than crispy
