He was brought up on the Athletic podcast in one of the build up shows. They were under the impression he's on route to Arsenal once the WC is concluded.

Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel that both Liverpool and Arsenal had made direct contact with his agent.

Bouaddi looks class but I think we need someone who can boss midfield. He looks fairly lightweight. And he's only 18

Does anyone not remember the clamour to sign the Moroccan DM after the World Cup in 2022?! How did Amrabat fair out again?!

To be fair, Boubaddi is in a completely different league to Amrabat. Most people (aside from the United execs) could see that, beyond the aggessive enthusiasm, Amrabat was extremely limited, particularly in possession. He was never going to be a serious option for a genuinely top-class side.

Boubaddi, meanwhile, is one of the highest-rated 18-year-olds in world football and heads into this World Cup as one of the game's most exciting young talents.

He is exactly the type of young player we should be in for.

He very much reminds me of Fabihno when Liverpool signed him. Fabinho was older, more experienced, and physically more developed, but Bouaddis running style, how he covers the ground to make tackles, the positions he takes up to receive passes, I see big similarities with Fabihno from his younger days.

Whoever picks this lad up is getting a serious player.

A goal and two assists for Isak. Looked sharper and fitter too… he's not quite back to himself yet, but it's still amazing what just staying healthy for more than a few weeks in a row can do 😅

Just pray to god he has a good tournament and comes back in one piece from it, and I think we'll see a very different player next season.

Just finished watching it. Isak was basically everything he wasn't for us. He was involved in everything up front...absolutely mind boggling he was averaging 7 touches a game going into this after watching that.

yeah amazing the difference in some of the players so far at the world cup, Isak and Wirtz look like different players..I know Germany were only playing Curacao…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,638 ✭✭✭ratracer

Gakpo the poorest of our performers yesterday?

Wirz was very good for Germany, though their opposition really wasn’t up to much.

Ya it kinda seems like most players had stopped playing for slot for whatever reason, I think they were sick and tired of his favouritism of some players like gapko and his harsh treatment of the likes of Harvey and even chiesa, these kinda things can split a dressing room, whereas klopp made all players feel like superstars and was an excellent motivator, slot severely lacked that trait

See from reports over the weekend that Bajectic is back training already…hopefully a few players will see this as a chance to relaunch their careers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,795 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

back training already is funny cos he probably hasn't trained in about 2 years! unfortunately.

Shame his career has gone this way, with his injuries, but I'd imagine he will be shipped off to lower/mid table Portugal or Spain this summer.

Unless, he moves back to playing as aa CB like he was at underage level. Might not be as physically demanding with heavy amount of sprints and recovery runs.

Yes, I think it will be a matter of seeing can they get him back fit and then off-load. I can't see him getting any meaningful time with the first team.

Well he was not fit for the whol season maybe a bit of game time he can be the player we signed

When he broke through, I was incredibly excited by Bajectic. He reminded me of a young Stevie G the way he covered the pitch with his running and the way he'd throw himself into tackles.

Up until this past season, I had hoped he'd be able to put his injuries behind him and push on.

Sadly though, after failing to really make any kind of mark at RB Salzburg (under a manager who knew him well) and Las Palmas, plus more injuries, I've kind of come to the conclusion that he was in the right place at the right time under the right manager when he broke into the Liverpool team. And that maybe his moment at that level has come and gone unfortunately.

Obviously hope I'm wrong, and that Iraola's track record with youngsters means Bajectic will get a fair shake of the stick and can build himself back up to where he was.

I've that lad blocked on twitter, so he must have done something in the past to draw my ire!

What's the latest On the fee amount on Diomande folks?(IF we got him).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 36,727 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

he never got going at Salzburg, but was excellent at Las Palmas - for midfielders he led the league in interceptions per 90, defensive actions per 90, and was in the top 10 in the league for offensive dribbles. That half season is what earned him a shot in the first team squad last season, but he just couldn’t get over that injury he picked up.

There’s a quality player there if he can stay fit (which is a big doubt).

I only came across him recently so don't know a whole pile about him

There's a difference between a quality player and a player of the quality of being at a top top elite club. We're not the best in Europe right now, but we definitely think we think we should be

It's tough for players like Williams, Wilson, Morton, Kelleher who are all looking good after leaving us and are on paper PL quality, but the issue for them was that there was always a better player in the squad ahead of them that they'd never eclipse even if they stayed and worked hard but they literally aren't at a world class level.

He's still only 21 so he has time on his side. I don't see him ever really being a consistent starter for Liverpool but he's a player I always liked, always seemed to give it his all. One of those lads id love to be wrong about.
