Article here about the use of the word soccer instead of football.

Two things really grind my gears.

One is people, usually Brits, getting annoyed at people using the word soccer instead of football

And two is people, usually Americans, apologizing for using the word soccer instead of football.

The use of either is totally valid, no one need get upset and no one need apologize.

I saw Australia thump Ireland 3-0 many years ago in Thomond Park in a friendly. Good luck to them. Not a fan of the Turks. Happy for Scotland but unconvincing. The only team that’s looked really good so far that I’ve watched is Morocco.
