I thought Cork were a lot better for long periods there. Everything good from Tipp came down their right hand side. Don't know how manager did not correct this in first half. Then basic stuff like we kept tryng to run the ball out of defence. They turned us over numerous times and we barely got out others. Manager is alot to blame for not sorting these things out.

A real pity as we looked really good. Made them look great with basic errors

Donegal with most of the control of the game but only 3 in it with 15 to go, 1-11 v 0-11

Not from Cork but absolutely delighted to see the result today especially when everybody in RTE and the GAA obviously wrote you off with not showing this game on TV..they presumed it would be an easy win for Donegal. Well done to Cork...this is a season for the underdog!

all ireland qf in 2 weeks against one of the winners from next weekend. Avoidance of repeat pairings means its unlikely to be meath Kerry or donegal which is a huge plus

Need to defund the hurling so we can focus on the football lads. Up the rebels!

Cork football gets a lot of flack at times, and John Cleary gets a lot of flack as well but he's taken us back up to Division One in the league, and he and Cork stuck two fingers up at the haters and critics both inside and outside the county, by beating the form team in the country in Donegal in their own backyard and taking us into the quarter finals.

This could very well be our greatest win since finishing off that great Tyrone team in the 2009 all Ireland semi final. The double is still very much on folks, because we'll fancy our chances against anyone in the quarter finals now especially if the game will be in Cork.

I saw a comment on reddit that summed it up, basically everyone was writing off Cork this weekend but this was actually the only fixture with two division 1 teams.

It's probably because Kerry win Munster so handily but Cork football is certainly disrespected nationwide.

Can the quarter final take place in Cork? Or does it have to be a neutral venue.

I'd actually be torn on keeping it in Pairc Ui Rinn...we've had some great results there and the atmosphere definitely helps

I been in top 3 or 4 biggest critics of Cork football in here.

That was a sensational result today. Our biggest win since September 2010 for me (kerry in 2020 was amazing but fecking away Munster just feels letdown)

Fair play to go up to Donegal and win was never going be easy. Paddy Andrews said we would lose by 15 points. I thought it would be 8-10 myself.

    Well done to all involved

Obviously you're the best fans in the country ATM and that includes football fanbases but I think Offaly will bring maybe 30% of the crowd. I know a few boys down there from my college days and they say there's a good buzz about.

Well done today. Good chance you'll be in the semi's for both codes. Could be like 1999 all over again.

Other contenders to make both semis would be Dublin and Galway.

I'm on the verge of a site ban. Please don't rage bait me, I'm easily triggered especially late at night!

If Cork make it to semi against Galway on Sat 4th, hotels are off the wall. It's clashing with take that in Aviva, ouch!

See pictures of steward wrestle a poor old Cork fan to ground. What a **** disgrace. The Cork Supporter was least 60.

Hope one Cork players gave the steward his best shot.

Unbelievable comeback fom the ladies footballers! 6 points down with 5 mins left but came flying back to win by a point!

I thought they were dead and buried!

    Waterford 1-14 Cork 1-15

You can see the last 2 mins in this tweet if you missed it

As for that steward, fair dues to Brian Hurley for standing up for him. Thuggery by that steward

It was scandalous how that Cork fan was treated...

Michael Murphy didn't lick it off the ground

Donegal are becoming very aggressive in their attitude... there is an edgyness in everything they do..

its not going according to plan for jimmy and Michael Murphy and their supporters.. its yr 3 and if anything they look to be going backwards...

What the actual ****. Sure the pitches have been flooded with supporters after games let alone a win against the odds. Your man is a spinless thug anyway the way he got him from behind

These stewards/ security guys need to cop on. There was similar in Pairc Ui Chaoimh last Sunday. One lad flattened by 4 security guards....

Funny it wouldn't have happened if yer man hadn't run onto the pitch.

First they came for the socialists...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,030 ✭✭✭C4000

People run on to pitches at the end of every game. The GAA doesnt need heavy handed security flattening a 60 year old man.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,030 ✭✭✭Feisar

Did they not say several times not to run onto the pitch? And what's yer man's age got to do with it, my Dad is late sixties and he'd probably have bit the eye out of that stewarts head, but then he's a psychopath.

That steward in Ballybofey must be very proud of himself tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,790 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

If running on to the pitch to celebrate a win, especially a defiant against the odds win like that is a crime, then that's most of us here guilty i reckon.
