Does this mean the Treaty name is gone next year ? Will this turn off people from Clare & North Tipp that were supporting a mid west team rather than a Limerick team . On the flip side will it galvanise more support from the limerick sporting public . Things can only get better from where treaty is now anyways .

Well if they ever were supporting it was in very small numbers because attendances are tiny anyway. Treaty is also as Limerick a name as Limerick.

The make up of the new National League shows just how weak soccer is in the mid West outside the city. If they wanted a team to follow that was the chance.

Personally I preferred Treaty United and their original red and white. Sick of being Treaty 37 FC United whatever only to go back to Limerick and back to bankruptcy and another new name and round and round.

Don't know where the press release was published but someone has this up under Treaty's announcement.

    Treaty 2-2 Bray

    (Oyenuga, Byrne)

I was not at this or watching online, so all I know is that we were 2-0 up within 10 minutes, but it was level by the half-hour mark, and there were no more goals.

Next game: away to Cork, Friday June 19, 7.45pm.

Not being able to get a national league licence was probably a bit of a wake up call.

Did they even apply? That new third tier is going to be an absolute money pit. Being stuck in the first division is bad enough.

The whole Limerick set up seemed iffy that a junior club was doing the day to day running.

Ya they got rejected which means they must have been fairly weak looking at some of the teams involved.

    Cork 4-0 Treaty

We were actually the better team in the first half, and we could have been a goal or more up at half time. A combination of poor finishing, and especially, poor decisions in the final third, meant we wasted chance after chance.

The difference was starkly illustrated in the second half. In a spell of a about 15 minutes, Cork were clinical and scored three goals, adding another very late on to complete the rout.

A Kerry win away to UCD means that Finn Harps are now the closest team to us.

Next game: away to Wexford, Friday June 26, 7.45pm.
