Ya like realistically the cane should be a nk go, seen him once or twice but no interactions and not really given him the attention he craves

Mirror, mirror, on the wall. Who’s the noisiest band of all?

Well, after tonight’s performance at Workman’s, I’m going to say Nerves. A wall of noise with the piercing notes of the lead guitar skipping along the top. Just Incredible. 👏👏👏

I think I’m in that pic and still don’t think I’ve come across him before! Sounds like it might be for the best.

Life is serendipitous at times, walking out the toilets at David Byrne this evening and he was right beside me with cane in hand.

Excellent. Although this is my favourite review of all time (album - not gig)

a couple of gigs I was at recently there was someone sat in front of me videoing the whole thing, what is the point of that?

Back in the day they used to search you for recording equipment, now it seems you can video-bootleg the whole thing and no-one cares.

David Byrne @ St Anne's Park.

Brilliant concert . He mentioned the slippiness of the stage but otherwise no other comment about the rain , which was monsoon like for the whole gig .I have never gotten as wet at a gig , even Noel Gallagher a few years back pales in comparison .

Hands in pockets soaking wet along with phone .

But still great crowd and great gig . Great to be able to dance to the songs unlike the 3 Arena

Jools Holland Orchestra and friends @the 3 Arena .

Lovely concert 2 and a quarter hours of bluesy jazzy music with the ubiquitous Ruby Turner along with some other singers . Very enjoyable night and hey, it didn't rain !

Really enjoyed David Byrne in St. Anne's.

Despite the rain, I actually preferred it to the 3Arena show. Thought the crowd were great, atmosphere felt a bit looser and Byrne was on top form.

Nice reminder that outdoor gigs don't have to be sunshine and 25 degrees to work, and it did last night. Wellies did help.

Transport out of there was better than CMAT last week. No need for any multi page post-mortem major transport dramas to overshadow proceedings this time.

Just David Byrne, Talking Heads songs and a crowd having a good time. Hope anyone here who attended it had a great time and didn't get too wet.

Agree 100% with those Reviews of David Bryne at St Annes Park... a wonderfully happy 2 hrs of music and dancing...

No complaints regarding transport, used the Dart out and back via Connolly.. all very handy.

Dogstar in the Olympia. Had to leave early but wasn't too sad to either. It wasn't engaging. Very middle of the road, the singer wasn't great, the songs all sounded the same, and Keanu Reeves just kept his head down and didn't say anything to the audience.

Olympia was rammed though. You can safely assume most were not there for the music. Dogstar's profile far outweighed their ability to play to such a large crowd. They'd have gotten away with Whelan's.

I'm still on a high after David Byrne and Nick Cave. Total perfection would have meant Nick got that epic rain instead of David, it would have added to an already intense experience in Malahide. But both evenings were magnificent, and the audiences at them were definitely a factor in how great an experience each concert was.

New to this thread but Keb' Mo' in the Concert Hall on Monday night was sublime.

One man and his guitar(s) some gorgeous songs, some funny songs but a great night.

    David Byrne on Sunday………..magnificent.

Houses in Motion, Life During Wartime, it really doesn't get any better.

I really enjoyed this, not a major fan, and hard to categorise their genre, fairly even rock band for me, but the timing and venue drew me in. They rattled through 20 odd songs in 1 hour 10 mins, I thought they were very tight and sound was exceptional, Brett is a great performer and singer carrying all guitar parts, and was the focus of the show, Keanu does detract a little the massive film star he is but worked away perfectly without encouraging the fanboy stuff, and the spotlights rarely lit him up, it was obvious the catcalls came between songs so they kept it up bang bang bang with the tracks. It's quite obvious too he's not comfortable possibly and/or doesn't want to engage directly with the crowd. Was refreshing he didn't in a way.

Plenty of fans of Keanu as a film star in the crowd I took but that didn't affect the experience, performance for me.

Either way I'd go see them again in the morning.

I thought dogstar was quite good actually coming back off of GnR I thought it was a great gig, they were even in attendance up in the side balcony,

I had family who went with the VIP, and nothing but praise would have family with additional needs, and Keanu made loads of time for them full blown conversation about GnR the previous night, concerts, music and all sorts, plenty of pictures, goodies and chatted away and had a laugh for a good few minutes made his year,

I thought the music was a bit middle of the road but let's be honest we aren't going for the music itself, it's the novelty of seeing a Hollywood legend play with his band, and I was actually quite surprised how good he is at playing bass, it can be knocked off as an ego thing, but the man can actually play the bass and it was actually nice to see the guy having a blast on stage and he seemed buzzed about the entire thing, given what's happened in his personal life,

Tbf he did engage with the crowd at the end, he knows he's the draw and plays into it a small bit but it was a great gig, they were solid no faffing about they got on with the gig blasted through the songs, and given it was first night of the tour it went off without a hitch, he even pointed at one of the signs Keanu in fairness to him, he was getting catcalled which he's well used to,

Sure let's be honest you probably went for the "Keanu Factor" yourself

Really enjoyed Dogstar in the Olympia.

Went in expecting a fun night and that's exactly what it was. Thought the band sounded great, the venue suited them perfectly and the crowd around me were having an absolute ball from start to finish.

The thing that struck me most was how positive the atmosphere was. Nice mix of people, plenty clearly knew the songs, plenty were there because they liked the band, and yes, plenty were probably curious to see Keanu Reeves as well. Hardly the crime of the century.

Keanu himself was refreshingly understated too. No ego, no celebrity nonsense, just got on with playing bass and let the music do the talking.

Reading some reactions afterwards, you'd nearly think people had been tricked into attending under false pretences. Dogstar featuring Keanu Reeves was fairly prominent on the poster last time I checked. Sometimes it feels like people attend gigs just so they can report back that they attended them.

If someone genuinely thought the whole thing was a gimmick, it's a little surprising they still bought a ticket, turned up and stayed long enough to review it afterwards.

Sometimes that's enough. Not every gig needs to be reduced to a box-ticking exercise before people allow themselves to enjoy it.

Personally I thought it was exactly what it promised to be: a good band, a packed Olympia and a crowd having a great time. And it isn't that why we attend gigs? To have fun and forget about the outside world for a few hours?

One of these days, DarMul, you're going to go to a gig and you're going to enjoy it so much, you'll forget to wonder about ANYBODY else. I hope I'm around to hear about it.

Really enjoyed Dogstar, the music is very generic 90s alternative rock but they played great and Keanu gave it loads of energy. He didn't talk to the crowd as then it would have turned into fanboy thing and there were enough people shouting up "Keanu!" as it was. Sure they played a bigger venue than you'd expect for a low profile band but if you have Keanu f***ing Reeves in your band you go big or go home.
Surprised they only played for 1h 10min but maybe they don't have a lot of material.
I was surprised at how well Keanu can play, on one song he even carried the tune when the guitar dropped out. He obviously takes this side hustle seriously.

Talking Heads in the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire last night were unreal. The energy, the set design.. David Byrne is a genius. If you havent seen them make sure you do.

Crowd were a but muted at the beginning but got into it as the gig went on, even a few whoops. Everyone stayed seated though which was a bit of a shame.

    Still a great gig though.
