Yep....Trump hasn't just pushed the envelope he's torn it apart and then defecated on it......it will have lots of downstream negative consequences however

If there were no civilian casualties/actually scratch that no human casualties I'd actually celebrate if Iran took out all of Musks assets and left him penniless.

Makes me yearn for a tricky dicky , Bush Jr or a Reagan...…that's how utterly revolting Trump is...

There is a special category of arrogant stupidity for American politicians who talk about Ireland without having a single clue about us. It makes you respect the politicians who have actually done their homework and know what they are talking about, like Bill Clinton in the 90s.

The maddening thing is those who talk like America can elect their way out of the political quagmire the country is in. Electing a sane Democratic government would be a positive development, if it were able to even happen, but it's a bit like patching the roof of a house whose foundations are sinking. Better than nothing but only slightly. The country, or rather Trump's opponents, is not doing anything of note to address the structural, social and cultural problems which have given rise to something like MAGA and Trump's presidency in the first place. I don't think they'd even know where to really begin that project.

I've said before that the true test of American's return to a pre-MAGA normal won't be that they elect a Democrat as president in 2028, it will be who the next GOP President will be after the next Democratic president. Let's say we have a two term Democrat president starting in 2028. Great, but in 2036 if they end up electing a MAGA hardliner or a Trump family member, that will show the world that American will simply continue to swing back and forth between normality and chaos. I'm hoping that the moderate side of the party, the party that nominated McCain and Romney, will reassert itself once Trump is out of the picture, and MAGA will be pushed to the fringe of the party where they belong.

Looking at one of the videos taken on O'Connell St of the protest march in Dublin yesterday was mindful of TDS as there was one Red Fan Cap on site with TRUMP on the back and TRUMP WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG over the peak.

If MAGA lose in 2028 it's unlikely they'll still be a force by 2032 when Trump is not on the field (and possibly dead by then). By 2036 MAGA will either be entrenched (because they have won presidency post Trump) or dead (because it's just tied to Donald Trump, nothing wider than that)

Mitt 'corporations are people, too!' Romney?! He's a classic neocon and it's people like him who gutted the American middle class with a smile on his face. The idea that the party's base would or should go back to his kind is crazy. If it's a choice between MAGA or his lot, the country might as well call it a day.

Judge weighs halt to Trump’s £45m White House UFC event

"Critics argue the date aligns only with Trump’s own birthday, not any actual national milestone, and point to his personal UFC stock holdings and sponsorship deals as evidence of financial self-interest.

The Justice Department argues the challenge is too late, citing over $60m already spent and extensive preparations completed, while plaintiffs allege the true for-profit nature of the event was concealed until recently".

This decision is going down to the wire, if it goes against Donald, chances are he will defy the Court, he already has pulled out of attending USA's opening WC game so he can be at UFC on WH lawn.

Yep, it'll be a full 12 hours of verbal diarrhoea about Obama-appointed judges, how he's being cheated out of hosting the bigliest and most spectacular event that Washington has ever seen, and how he'd like to challenge the judge to a UFC contest. I cannot wait.

Republicans are now trying to get the part of the Voting Rights Act that protects people who make errors or omissions on voting related records or paper from voting if the mistake "is not material in determining whether such individual is qualified" to vote.

52 U.S.C. § 10101(a)(2)(B), prohibits denying the right to vote because of an error or omission on a voting-related record or paper when that error or omission "is not material in determining whether such individual is qualified" to vote.

Would be some laugh if his UFC grift was stopped. He may do it anyway but, it would be funny. Jesus, how far that office has fallen. I loved watching the West Wing, with the fictional President Bartlett. Your typical feel good American good values production. All the typical moral quandries that that office would face with decisions coming down mainly left of centre, which, depending on where you lay on the polictical spectrum, would have been fairly much progressive Western Values. I cannot even begin to imagine what a show would look like now, with a Trump type in office. Can you imagine the weekly cliffhanger, did he bomb Iran, and that same cliffhanger repeating weekly. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.

Bill Pulte dropped by Trump as DNI nominee, federal prosecutor Jay Clayton his new DNI nomination.

On Trump's legacy front, allegedly Trump and people on the hill are working together to get his impeachments stricked from the record so his legacy will appear spotless.

Thoroughly enjoyed my tacos of a Thursday. A wonderful treat.

So, anyway, what's the orange lad up to?

I might be a little presumptive here but I think Trump has actually accepted himself that he has fallen in the popularity polls with the U.S public and that his statements on how "good" things are going with the war with Iran are evidence of it. He knows he's losing on that front, that people at home no longer have trust in the credibility of his statements about it, amongst other things important to them, like inflation.

I saw the photo session in the Oval Office where he was telling the U.S public how things were going on the peace deal front with Iran and noticed the person behind his right shoulder was a woman. However, her head and face were not in the camera shot wo I don't know if it was Susan Wiles or not. Noticably absent from the photo were Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth, both prime players in the Admin where the war with Iran is concerned.

The UFC event on the White House south lawn is almost like Nero's arranged circus events in Rome to distract the public from the mess the ruler had created in town. I'm not fully aware of where the Kennedy Rose Garden was located before Trump had it uprooted but it seem's to have been outside the Oval Office overlooking the South Lawn.

Under which US presidents would people have cheered for the US?

I'm on the verge of a site ban. Please don't rage bait me, I'm easily triggered especially late at night!

For the long term health of America and the world it might be better if the republicans get elected in 2028 and finish the job, if they get there in 2028 democrats will get the blame for the **** heap that Trump has left...let America sink lower and feel more pain, talking about a few disasters and terrorist incidents that can be traced back to this republican admin's neglect...also if the dems get in craven European leaders will assume things are back to normal and not continue disengaging from US allowing itself to be held hostage again when MAGA mark 2 gets in.

Iran has had a deal before with experienced team under Obama they know he needs something better for his ego.

Sad to say Iran are coming out stronger here but they want to humiliate America and especially the orange clown

US military has been strained by purges and politicization then thrown into a war without a strategy, all down to 1 man who is a serial bankrupt criminal grifting at every turn

Someone should tell Iran I see they are contradicting him already

The problem people need to remember is besides the gerrymandering laws, American politics is completely shaped by who has the biggest war chest also. Trump has been stuffing his pockets with so much cash from his grift and his supporters like the Isrealis that he will affect the next election regardless.

    It must be Friday.

Time for Trump Inc cronies to place their bets on the oil prices falling, have the Orangeman make an announcement to calm the markets, then start with the war mongering again on Monday so we can cash in again.

    Rinse and repeat.
