I think Mazin is getting a bit more criticism for decisions he made for the tv show that were different from the game, such as making Ellie less competent and more carefree so Dina can have a bigger role in the show. Kind of disappointed then that Druckman has left the project.

Great but scary series …… kin to The Handmaid's Tale and Mad Max …… like those The Last Of Us is based around a dystopian dictatorship that thinks it is on the right side …… as with Gilead and Bartertown ….. the FEDRA are the self styled 'saviour' of civilisation …… but are prob responsible for more innocent people's deaths than anything in Max or Handmaid's combined ……

What is most disturbing is that the response to the pandemic is the industrialised complex military option ….. dealing with a pandemic was no different than dealing with Al Qaeda or Saddam ….. this is meant to be 2003 afterall !!! ….. even a scientist in Indonesia advises this option ???? ….. !!!!!

But why ???? ….. there would be a world outcry if this was done in reality …… and it begs to be answered …… what killed most people ???? …… this cordyceps pandemic or the 'cure' ……. in reality wouldn't you try something else ??? …. these infected die from ordinary gunfire and blows from metal objects and stones ……. the hidden message is this pandemic was used to establish a corrupt military dictatorship akin to the use of the fertility crisis of The Handmaid's Tale to create the corrupt hypocritical Gileadean Republic …… I'm sure that Indonesian scientist was intelligent and learned ….. but was prob fed industrial military complex approaches and trained that way ???? …… having to be bitten for this thing to infect one makes this more difficult to get than Covid or flu …… so surely what went on was way over the top and was a total power grab …… same as that fertility crisis of Handmaid's was also over the top and a power grab ….. that is obvious in that series ……

Getting beyond that it is v clear that FEDRA manifest themselves as the main antagonist in the series …… their society is 100% controlled ….. like an extreme version of the highest level Covid era restrictions …… unlike Gilead and its religious ethos or the likes of Bartertown and its 'fuel research to rebuild society' ethos the FEDRA seem to be only interested in absolute control …… they got it during the worst of this pandemic and then kept it in place ….. some 20 years on …… there is def a strong 'survivalist' and 'prepper' mentality among them imv ……

What ever though ….. this is a great series and v entertaining …..

Reality is cordyceps exists ….. it can infect ants, etc and turn them into zombies ….. but it is unlikely in fact impossible for it to inflect people …… any future pandemic remains most likely to be a corona virus or an influenza virus ….. not fungi …..

Yeah big budget shows like this where there are plenty of sfx always lead to longer gaps between seasons. It's not like your regular network shows who usually have 5/6 month gaps between season and would still be filming as season is ongoing
