Trump sued the @WSJ for $10B claiming that the Trump signed birthday card to Epstein was a fake. Yet today the @nytimes reports that Trump called everyone at the WSJ to kill the story first .

And now we know what he looked like during the call...

That was a different time and b4 their partial release, now with full immunity he can kill anything inc those files that are well dead and buried at this stage with no consequences

The only conclusion that anyone with half a brain can come to re Trump’s health and his medical reports is as follows:-

What we see of Trump , on a daily basis , in front of us , along with the words he utters and the accompanying emails DO NOT MATCH the medical reports that are about him

Trump saying “ I love inflation” . Boardies being ‘upset ‘ do’nt get it. Trump knows that his base knows that he does not really mean it . He is , instead, trying to gas light, deflect, see what the reaction might be, if he cannot think of anything else to say at the moment and HAS TO SAY SOMETHING , then why not say “I LOVE INFLATION, etc, etc, etc, etc,

so Trump and his bunch of bootlickers used the war room for weeks, to discuss ways to hide and bury the Epstein files.
I hope there are repercussions for all these when things get back to normal. Or as normal as America gets.

Ok so this one I don't get. If USPS is the federal government, and they are given mail-in ballots to deliver…..surely the names and addresses on those ballots = the voter rolls that they're demanding?

It seems like they're basically saying "we won't deliver all the ballots until you tell us the list of people who should get ballots"

    No, there won’t be.

Not one of them will ever face the consequences of their actions.

America is political cesspit, and the only thing that will survive in it going forward are the fully bought and compromised and the wholly morally corrupt.

Theres no going back to what was before for America. MAGA has broken that country completely, they would have to rebuild their country from the ground up collectively and in unison, which as a fractured people, they will never do.

Also, MAGA is also a demented cult, and Trump is their God. These people are beyond moronic, they actually revel and take great pride in their ignorance, hate, anger and cruelty, all in the name of their perceived righteousness. And I reckon beyond saving, they’ve abandoned reality for the alter of Trump, and are not coming back.

What passed for normal before Trump will never come back, America Inc has made sure of that.

Trump is so hopeless on Iran. He just flits from strategy to strategy and is completely unreliable. There are many talking points from his second term but in 20 years history will mostly remember the omni-shambles in Iran.

People laugh when he says stuff like this but I've no doubt that he's entirely serious. He literally could not give a flying f**k about inflation, because he himself is making an absolute fortune from the presidency and he's isolated himself from the prosecutions that were being delivered before he got back into office. That's the only thing he cares about.

America is a basket case, despite what Trump has done, raising inflation and petrol prices thanks to his stupid tariffs and Iran war he still has a 35% approval rating. Bankrupting farmers because of his tariffs and giving Argentina 40 billion to undercut the American beef market. Hiding release of the full Epstein files, getting his personal lawyer (aka attorney general who is supposed to be independent) to say there will be no more released, that we've moved on.

That would be the greatest 'justice' for him if the legal system goes after him eventually - though I doubt it will - just confiscate all his ill-gotten gains, and take the rest as a fine. And take his phone. Of course someone would step in and support him, but his precious stash of money would be gone, and with it his reason for being.

Trump had only one strategy in terms of Iran and that is to distract from the Epstein files - I think that strategy has worked out quite well for him, don't you think? People are forgetting that he has been accused of raping children and the murder of at least one child.

People here don't like seeing others acting too big for their boots. It's ingrained. Maybe it's the Catholic addiction to needing to suffer to achieve and to feel guilty when you do. But overall if we see someone overachieve, it's criticised.

There were debates on the radio when Daniel Wiffen was saying he wanted to win gold and break records (he was quoted as saying that he possesses "one of the best mentalities in the sport") and whether it was a Gen-Z thing creeping in here and how he should be more humble in the traditional Irish way of "I know I'm good but I'm not going to say it I'll just say sure I'll give it a go". He was labelled cocky and arrogant for daring to say that he's the best - because we're just not used to hearing that here.

This is why we struggle to understand Trump's popularity of his base and his ability in 2024 to get votes from Independents and some Dems who didn't like Kamala.

The fact is him being brash and making wild claims simply isn't as grating or unpleasant to the average Joe over there, not in the same way. They expect their athletes to say they're the best and will blow everyone else away. They expect someone who is rich or in power to gloat and make outrageous claims.

Obviously there's times where they'll recognise that it's going too far or it's just hyperbole - but my point is that they aren't as culturally predisposed to dislike it as we are. It's the opposite, they like it.

They admire somebody acting too big for their boots because it's ingrained in the same way it is for us to feel uncomfortable about it. It's easy to excuse someone's actions if you think you will one day be in that position and would act the same when you get there. That's what these temporarily embarrassed millionaires latch onto.

    Louis Winthorpe III (Trading Places)

"The best way to hurt rich people is by turning them into poor people."

And I'm not so sure that he'd find a backer, he'll be irrelevant then, doubt if anyone is going to feel sorry for him, they are all just using him to their own ends

Yet Italy’s Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, says the European Union should be ready to impose new sanctions on Iran, if the crisis in the Middle East doesn’t end. Er… the US attacked Iran. That what's causing the crisis in the Middle East. We should be sanctioning Trump and Netanhanyu.

Unreal. It's like sanctioning Ukraine for not surrendering to Russia.

It's hard to disagree with this:

I normally hate AI slop but I do have to grudgingly admit that it can be entertaining sometimes.

Trump has taken something the world adores and has defiled it because that's all he knows how to do. I personally don't give a toss about soccer but I know that many millions of people love it and it's a disgrace to see fans and staff being abused this way.

This isn't about brashness or arrogance, this is about Trump deciding on a whim what the new reality is and the rest of the GOP going along with it, no matter the cost to ordinary people.

In his acceptance for the Republican nomination in 2024, he said that “Inflation has been a killer for our country. No matter what you're making, it doesn't matter because inflation is eating you alive.” A month later he said on Truth Social “With your vote in this election, inflation will stop.”

Suddenly inflation is something to love. It boggles the mind and not in an 'Oh, why can't he be humble' manner but in a 'Why is no-one stopping him!?!?!' way.

Oscar Wilde once said that America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilisation somewhere in between.

There's a core dynamic that basically guarantees the American right power. They pillage the country via austerity and tax cuts and people get upset. They vote in the Democrat to clean up the mess. The Democrat hasn't the time/energy/political power to do much of a job so they re-elect the Republican and the cycle continues.

It obviously helps that a lot of Americans seem to be deeply hateful and sycophantic people. Red states have been dutifully voting for their own misery for generations. If you're stupid enough to vote against your own economic interests because you hate trans people or don't want women you'll never meet having abortions, you deserve what you get, honestly.

Inflation is good, in the same way that the phone call that got him impeached was "perfect".

They are "winning" the war and the crowd weren't booing, they were great!

He phrases everything as positive, lies through his teeth and just plows ahead, regardless.

If he were real, he'd have a Trump face on his chest and a red hat.

Trump shows up for the Knicks game. Causes untold hassle to fans, is booed, leaves early and they suffer their first loss after 13 straight wins.

Fans burn sage outside the arena.

The Knicks play last night. Taylor Swift, hated by Trump shows up: Knicks have the biggest comeback in NBA playoff history.

Upset would be an incorrect description....disgusted at the cretin, his approach, the corruption and the long term damage it is doing to the states would be more accurate....the kind of reaction one has when they unexpectedly step in something foul smelling with a sticky mucous like texture would be more accurate....in my case at least.

This is because he's so consumed by narcissism that he truly believes that whatever comes out of his mouth is somehow the truth. I truly believe that. He is severely ill.

Nah, Putin, along with the next unallocated World Cup.

Trump says he loves inflation because he is planning on that when the war is over, he can then claim to have reduced it. And faster than anybody ever in history. Everybody says it's the greatest inflation reduction ever.

He is saying that he is happy for everyone else to suffer, so that he can then claim victory further down the line.

And my bet is that his base, Fox News, etc., will 100% go along with that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 983 ✭✭✭midlander12

Meh, that's just Meloni trying to get back in Trump's good books. She's been kinda invisible for the last month or two, since she lost a referendum and Trump attacked her over not allowing him to use an Italian base during the first phase of the war.

Oh no doubt about it. If the Trump era has exposed anything, it's the overwhelming and mind numbing stupidity of a fair portion of ordinary Americans.
