Reckon only around 10-15K will travel to the Offaly game, most will be keeping the bobs for travelling to Corker 2 weeks later you would imagine. You can't blame them.

Cork are 1/40 to beat Offaly

Every county does have the mad fans. No question. But I was surprised by the amount of vitriol today on here towards Cork last night and today after Limerick's good win. Honestly I don't see it on Reddit and social media and the likes, it feels like quite a "Boards" thing.

I guess they see Cork being a threat and that's a positive I suppose. I'll take that over the years we weren't competitive.

there’ll be a small enough crowd i’d imagine with all the stuff on that weekend. Ive concert tickets for example so will not be there, many others will be the same

A double header in Thurles Saturday evening would probably have made more sense. There won't be 15k at the Clare Dublin match (i'd expect it to be actually closer to 10k) and, even though ye are supporting in massive numbers the last few years, it's probably the one match this year where you won't have a crazy big Cork crowd so probably no more than 25k sunday?

A near full house Saturday evening would have made for a better atmosphere.

If you reckon it's only 10k for the Clare game then Portlaoise should have been used. That was you still have Thurles free for a possible huge Cork crowd.

I think they are afraid to do a double header just incase the possible large Cork and Dublin crowds buck the trend and show up.

I don't agree that it makes a better atmosphere to have a double header because we have seen most people don't stay for both.

A certain element on here are reminding me of the bad old days of An Fear Rua, which was as an absolute cesspit of a website. The PROC is bit of a circus as well so this place while not as busy i still prefer it. The anti Cork crowd derailing the thread with their sanctimonious and self righteous preaching's about fan conduct and behaviour is getting tiresome though.

Either talk on field matters or go take the high road for yourself i say. In general i don't mind non Cork folk contributing to the thread, but some of them need to get down off their high horses. It would be hilarious if we turn the tables on Limerick in Croke Park in July, so let's just use the middle finger salutes from some of their fans, and their players planting their flags on our pitch as fuel to drive us on for the ultimate glory in July.

I'll be honest losing a third all Ireland final in a row would hurt a lot more for me if Limerick beat us rather than Clare, but for now we better focus on making sure we'll make it there to play Limerick or Clare!

I know a lot of tickets will be currently reserved for the club's but at the minute there's only tickets available for one terrace in thurles.

Actually just double checked and it says low availability and no tickets now. I'm not sure if tickets for both ends were on sale but this is suggested a big big crowd.

Like I talked about previously if you sell this out, any other match this year will be likewise and that will continue next year back into Munster.

Could be a multi year long streak of cork playing in sell outs which is very impressive.

For the quarter you'd imagine Offaly could bring a big crowd too, possibly around 15k+.

I'm on the verge of a site ban. Please don't rage bait me, I'm easily triggered especially late at night!

Speaking to an Offaly family today. Frenzy for tickets in Offaly which surprised me. Here in Clare supporters many grumbling about venue and time of game. Gret to see Offaly appreciating their day put. They're not too concerned about probale defeat. Want their day in the sun. Incidentally, in the queue at 2 by the time they got online all stand tickets gone. Great credit to Cork supporters also for yere loyal support. Pity, that we will have to deny ye again in the all Ireland final😀

So tickets in the club's hands now and any return's will go back up. Pretty sure this'll sell out. When's the last time a quarter final sold out?

Only a small amount of Stand tickets went on sale today apparently. Some club allocations in Cork are Stand tickets only - no terrace. I wouldn't be surprised if the Town End is the only terrace open.

It would be great for Offaly to bring a big crowd, but I doubt they will be any where near 15k to be honest.

As i said just earlier there better Clare than the Limerick shower.😁 In many ways it was Clare in 1995 who turned the whole concept of tradition and history in hurling upside down. I used to think it was Offaly that were the team of the 90's, but in many ways they were lucky enough to win those all Irelands looking back at it.

Limerick fell asleep at the wheel when the thought the game was won in 1994, and yes the suspension dished out to Colin Lynch that year, and that semi final been blown up with two minutes left to play would very much suggest that outside forces were conspiring against Clare in 1998.

Great news about the flight the management and players will be delighted with that. If Don Franco was still around they'd be heading up there on the bus.🤣

I read the same for Offaly. They've only gotten stand tickets allocated. Which would suggest both terraces went up on sale today. I've no idea if they did.

Just to confirm both terraces were up for sale earlier. It's looking like a sellout alright, likely to be 85% Cork. Obviously anyone who wants a ticket will get one.

Well done Cork!! Practically keeping the GAA alive with our enormous support

An Fear Rua…! That's a blast from the past..!

LListened To some of Anthony daly/Mark landers podcast there.. thought Mark was critical enough of Ben o'Connor... bit harsh i felt..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 75 ✭✭jommer01

Landers clearly has a gripe with Ben. Check out the O Connor twins laochra gael for context if you haven't seen it! A very good watch

"I'll name him straight out. Mark Landers," Ben said.

"We were playing Killeagh above in Kilworth in championship one night.

"Mark Landers was playing for Killeagh and he ran down the sideline and he roared out at my father 'you're after ruining Cork hurling.'

    From that Laochra Gael

Ya well done. QF attendances are usually way down and I was embarrassed by the amount of people skipped Limerick vs Dublin last year.

Mark Landers..... I've no real time for listening to his opinion on hurling to tell you the truth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 586 ✭✭✭puzl

Me neither. Thankfully he spends more time talking about horses on that podcast.

Minor hurling semifinal at 2 today, on TG4 YouTube.

Ladies football on TG4 today, camogie on YouTube tomorrow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 691 ✭✭✭sportsfan90

Just a correction on above regarding the minor hurling today..

It’s on the TG4 App/Player rather than YouTube.

    2-08 v 1-09 to Tip at ht

Good game between 2 evenly matched teams. Cork keeper gave Tip a few scores. If we can get enough ball to 13, Coffey from Na Piarsaigh, we will win, easily beating his man consistently. Considine at 5 playing well. Corner backs are in a spot of bother though.

    Tip 5-18 v Cork 2-19

Keeper won't want to watch the highlights. Had a great chance of winning with around 15 to go but couldn't put them away. Tip's full forward was given way too much freedom for too long. Last 5 mins was all Tip.
