Yr weather app is looking much better than met Éireann. It’ll change 20 million times anyway between now and then.

Any idea whether campers can enter the campervan site and vice versa?

Where is this lil snippet from? Going to print it out and laminate it and tell security "well KevIRL said... so lemme in with my cans pls."

@whelzer What about Moodymann???? Decisions, decisions….

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,371 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

From their own Whatsapp channel. Their account replying to questions.

I'm sure security would still accept that mind.

Accuweather still looks pretty acceptable to me… below is for "Glendalough Round Tower"

    * Friday: Some rain (but nothing biblical)
    * Saturday: Drizzle in the morning (I'll be asleep hopefully!), then cloudy during the day and dry overnight (4% risk of rain)
    * Sunday: Dry during the day, light scattered showers in the evening

A video of the Father John Misty gig at Primavera Sound.

Weather forecasts taking a turn for the better...

for the first time for a festival I am taking weather into account as a factor on whether to go or not, I'm now 45 after all! Never been to BTP, the line up looks really good to me. How does the ground hold up in general folks? Also, is the round tower experience worth it in terms of a small bit of comfort and protection from the elements.

Ground held up okay last year. Was parts that weren't great on Sunday but in general was fine to get around. Campsite was perfect. Roundtower thing is new this year but there are never large queues for bars, toilets generally okay anyway and reasonable amount of seating areas too.

As mentioned yesterday there are signs now that the weather might take a turn for the better toward the end of next week

The ground held up ok but once its not torrential for days. The issue when its wet is the lack of places to lie down and chill if the ground is sodden.

This is very true: "The issue when its wet is the lack of places to lie down and chill if the ground is sodden."

For me, the main attraction of the Round Tower would be to help with this (still not planning to do it though - unless forecast dreadful on Thursday).

Friend has free ticket so thinking of going for night or two. Weather looking good now too or at least better than lately. Hmmm.

Seriously tempted myself now I must admit... Weather and how chape i can get a ticket on toutless will likely be the deciding factor.

What's the checks like for campervan? Not taking anything I shouldn't, more just having to repack everything that I'm thinking of.

Also I assume gas is a no go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 1,096 ✭✭✭grudgehugger

The last 3 years checks have been fairly non-existent on the van I've been a guest in. New organisers this year though so not promising anything!

Also afaik standard protocol for vans and festivals is to bring gas but not to admit to this when asked officially (based on what my mate does and most festival threads on here).

Hopefully it's the same as we are only in a van so everything is going to be packed in boxes.

OK I wasn't sure, we have a portable stove as opposed to a built in unit. Thanks for letting me know.

Weather looks like it’s playing ball for the weekend. Fingers crossed.
Does anyone know if Jenny Greene is playing Friday or Saturday night? Official poster and clash finder have her on at 2.30am Fri but the app has her playing on Saturday night. Not that it matters but just interested.

The app puts acts into the following day if they start after midnight if that makes sense. She's starting at 2.30am on Saturday morning

Great to see the weather forecast turn for the better, big question mark now around the ground conditions as a lot of rain has fallen in the last week and will continue to do so next couple of days

    Hi all,

Bit of a long shot, but myself and 1-2 friends are hoping to head home early on Sunday from Beyond The Pale rather than staying for the full day.

If anyone is driving back towards Dublin (or anywhere nearby) and might have space for 2 or 3 people, we'd be very grateful. Happy to contribute towards petrol and any other costs.

Feel free to send me a PM if you might be able to help.

    Cheers!

Can only see spirit brands listed in emails and onsite.

Still unsure of what beer will be sold.
