As a Tipperary man , i always support this Limerick team. They play hurling while Cork play a bizarre mix of handball, hurling, showboating. Kiely and Kinnerk have managed to keep a core of 10 players fresh and in form year after year . Congrats

I think it makes it better the fact they think they were robbed. The ref and the wind stopped cork scoring from play after 38 minutes according to Horgan, you couldn’t make that up if you were paid. A great great day.

Cathal O Neill injury - was it hamstring again or knee?

In fairness to Gillane, he is just back from injury.

Was also at that final you're referring to. 2007, in the hill, game was effectively over after 20 mins!

Funny enough he had no problem with the same ref last year

I never thought I’d see anyone as bad and biased as Dowling on TV again but fair play to Hoggie he proved me wrong. I could watch the Ben O Connor interview on repeat, it’s just comical.

Hoggie was an embarrassment tonight. Big sour head on him too, you just know he's sick to his stomach.

The amount of time they spent talking about the added time 'incident" on the sunday game was comical time was up well up!

Should we keep playing till we get the draw?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,919 ✭✭✭High bike

That's what Owens did last year,Jesus's it's embarrassing the whinging out of O'connor and Horgan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,342 ✭✭✭lmk123

all they had to do was ask the ref if they had time to play it or not, they didn’t ask and then proceeded to f**k around with it 2 minutes after injury time was up. If it was that late in a junior B challenge game someone would ask the ref, but no the Rebels didn’t do that and it’s everyone’s fault except their own.

He said "it wouldn't have came down to time you get one more play"

What an utterly dumb comment. Now wonder he never won an All Ireland if his sporting intelligence is that stupid.

The rules of the game are clearly about time not."plays".

my understanding is that he was giving them the opportunity to shoot or play in to the square and would have allowed to see if cork scored or were fouled or limerick cleared. None of those happened and they tapped it around in their own half and he blew it. End of.

leave them chokers alone. Another lead in a final blown that’s three now they lead in and lost.

Anyone who ever played sport knows what was left to play. O'Connor and some other Cork people are making fools of themselves trying to blame anyone else.

As the great sylvie said in 88 to Nicky English after he asked the ref what’s left “a minute” he said to which sylvie replied “another minute and one year” 😂 eff them chokers

Owns did everything in his power for cork to equalise he did the same last year in the gaelic grounds I remember seeing declan hannon pointing at the clock and saying where did you get all that extra time in extra time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 985 ✭✭✭puntosporting

Even Owens got fed up with Cork gouling around at the end and blew it up lol

League match 2025 in PUC. Played 8 minutes and Cork 2 frees in the added 8 minutes. Forget who the ref was. Weather was worse than today but it was February.

It was clear the free was the last chance as time was more than up. Any other team would try for a score. Even if it fell short there may be a chance of a score if a Cork player picked it up. But Cork took the free short and that was the end of the game.

if they were cute enough they should have tried for the quick one, at least one limerick player would have been less than the 10 mts back. Make a scene in front of ref ball brought forward and over the bar ET then anything can happen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,094 ✭✭✭C4000

There was 5 minutes signalled, 6 played before the free was awarded, with no further stoppages. Not sure what else they wanted. In any case, O Mahony's ball in fell about 20 yards short. Game over. Stop whinging.

The most telling stat was that Limerick had 53% accuracy vs 73% from Cork. Including about 4 goal chances that were left behind. And still won.

Never really got into a rythym from an attacking sense. Hego and Casey won the game in the last few minutes in the full forward line.

O Donovan good again and Byrnes is leading the charge all year.

Hopefully O Neill just a tweak rather than anything worse.

7 Munsters in 8 years. Unbelieveable stuff from this team

Looking back at the game we did a lot of good hurling after Cork's second goal. we kept going for goal but got nothing. Casey was everywhere in the last 15 minutes. We couldn't put on any insurance points either after Casey put us one ahead again. Heaps of shots but little return. Cork apply a lot of pressure to shot takers i guess. Gillane actually did nothing wrong for the most part just was well marked. Then ended up frustrated and forced a crazy shot from out the sideline that went wide. Kiely hauled him off after that. DOD was savage. He really brings a commanding presence to the midfield. Kyle Hayes stormed into it too.

Its a big call, but id have Gillane back on the frees, with Byrnes hitting anything from 65 out.

O Connor had some lovely touches in general play and is a classy forward, but i think his strike rate is just a bit below Gillane on the frees.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 250 ✭✭biglad40isback

I would leave aoc on frees. Apparently he hits. Over 200 a night in training and has a better accuracy behind closed doors for him to get the nod. Yeah he missed a sitter or two yesterday but so has Gillane in the past and the wind was awful. The one that was blocked by sod that could rattled a young fella instead he walked to the 65 and put it over the red spot with dead eye accuracy.

did not see us wining that at any stage and had not played well until about 10 mins to go ….some win. BOC coming off very bad crying about refs….i've never seen the likes of it , he'd give Arteta a good run for his money. Cork decided very early in second half to just go for goals or win frees.

was in city end terrace and they left too many people in , stewards trying to get people to move from pathways and there no where else to go. " if you'd have come in earlier you'd have had room" is what people were told A few nods and winks at turnsiles!
