I did not ask about evidence. I am asking for your opinion. Work with me and then you can provide all the justifications you want.

Q1. DO YOU THINK the IDF snipers deliberately targetted children? Yes or No?

5th attempt. It's amazing you cannot even say it. One word.

Expecting a run away…please don't - I have many more questions around justifications and how active threats were identified and wound patterns.

I think you’ll find that the US regime and it’s allies/proxies have for decades destabilised the Middle East.

Remind me again how many countries Iran invaded?

Iran's proxies have caused havoc in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Jordan among others. Since the start of the US/Iran war, Iran have launched strikes against civilian facilities in UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Azerbaijan.

An individual cannot be "convicted" of genocide. Only a State. And the ICJ does not "convict" a State - it issues rulings.

The ICC can convict an individual for War Crimes, including "genocidal acts".

Gallant and Netanyahu are currently on the run from the ICC so of course, they cannot face justice, yet.

I didn't defend Iran at all. And every man and his dog knows the IDF snipes kids.

Your misplaced outrage is clouding your judgement. Calm down, read carefully what is posted and then respond.

And every man and his dog knows that Iran is the leading sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East, and that Iran kills tens of thousands of its own people and that Iran targets civilians and non-combatants, and that being female or homosexual in Iran is extremely dangerous, yet you want corrobative evidence of this, yet never demand the same about Israel.

    Double standards.

Yes, everyone knows the IDF snipers target kids. He was incapable of acknowledging it. I even posted a link where they were doing it using drones at food stations i.e. the 'snipers' were not under any threat whatsoever. Did you notice that instead of using the word "children" he would only use the word "teenagers" even though my first link quoting 9 doctors showed mainly children under 12? As if 'teenagers' helped justify the murder of defenceless starving children. His mind must be melted trying to excuse it all. I wanted to hear more of his justifications but he ran away….quelle surprise. Major character flaw or just rampant islamophobia, unsure.

I've no idea why you're attacking me.

I've not defended Iran at all. If you read back my post you'll see that.

You must be confusing me with someone else.

You might reply to the simple question you d been asked by another poster. That'd be a start.

Let's see if this is picked up on by other media outlets

Seems like a bit of stalemate going on according to the Iranian leaders senior military advisor. More time needed to get the framework deal sorted, before moving onto the nuclear treaty.

So escalation or capitulation of either side. Regardless, he has 2 months before the **** hit's the fan if the waterway does not open fully.

Unique way of saying Iran wants the return of the money that the USA stole from it.

they wouldn’t need money if they didn’t build nuclear weapons you were earlier trying to claim they had

Does not sound like the US is going for it according to Reuters, instead they are looking into giving the frozen assets to the Gulf states as compensation for damage inflicted on them.

Yeah if Iran hang tough on that 'compensation' it's hard to see them reaching a deal.

Is this US humour or irony?

The United States is lobbying other countries on the UN nuclear watchdog's Board of Governors to back a draft resolution ordering Iran to inform the agency of the fate of its bombed nuclear sites and the enriched uranium that was stored there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,430 ✭✭✭wildgreen

The Palestinians being executed by Israel are just citizens trying to live with their extended family another day, you couldn't describe them as protesters as they have been too trampled on and impoverished by zionists and western colonialists to have that status.

Israel strikes Beirut. In response Ebrahim Rezaei, Iran's spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission:

“We will give a decisive and painful response to the Zionist regime's attack on the suburbs. This rabid dog must be disciplined and put in its place. Look at the sky of the occupied territories tonight.”

Kids usually learn at a young age that two wrongs don’t make a right, but keep self flagelating your western self (assuming you are actually in west) while them “easterners” do nothing to help in Middle East or make things worse like them “easterner” countries of Israel and Iran are doing

my god, here we go again. You’re like a stuck record with this rubbish.

You constantly accuse others of "picking a side" while you view every issue through a binary lens yourself.

When people criticise Israel, you ask why they're not talking about Hamas, Iran, Russia, China, the East, or whatever other comparison you've decided is relevant that day. Yet when people do discuss those things, you never seem to apply the same test in reverse.

You seem to have adopted this position where everyone else is supposedly ideological while you occupy some enlightened middle ground. It is the epitome of contrarian, edge lord posting. It offers nothing to any thread, just a repeat of the same tired old rubbish for months now.

And this obsession with labelling support for Palestinians as "far left" is particularly odd. Granted there is more than you who is doing it. Opposition to civilian deaths, collective punishment and genocide isn't a left-wing position. I would even go so far as to say you have absolutely no idea what “left wing” means. Not every issue has to be shoe horned into an American culture-war framework where you're either on Team Left or Team Right.

Sometimes people are simply responding to what they see happening.

News that Iran executing protestors this week is “rubbish” ?

I posted news articles of Iranian regime executing its own again in a thread about Iran

And all the reply we get from far lefties is “yeh but Israel and Palestinians” as if that makes this ok or is even relevant to the thread

Followed by the usual bizzare self flagellation about the evil “west” and “westerners”

I didn't say Iranian executions were rubbish. I didn't defend them. I didn't even mention Iran.

I commented on your tendency to reduce every discussion to "the left", "the West", "the East", and various ideological tribes.

You seem far more interested in arguing with a stereotype you've created in your head than with the people actually replying to you.

You consistently wade into every topic with the same predictable contrarian routine. Everyone else is supposedly a tribal partisan, a sheep, a "far leftie", or engaged in groupthink, while you seem to try cast yourself as the lone voice of reason standing above it all.

The irony being that your contribution is more repetitive than the people you're criticising. No matter what the subject is, sooner or later you drag it back to the same rant about "the left", Western self-loathing, and whatever edgy nonsense is occupying your attention that week.

Wait a minute, if that poster refers to Hamas, Iran, Russia, China, the East or whatever comparison, he is hardly looking at a situation through a binary lens, there is a multipolar aspect to it.

When you say that sometimes people are simply responding to what they see happening, how do you view a poster who sees an absolute pile-on Israel to the extent that some posters are downplaying Iran executing its own protesting citizens and points to examples elsewhere of regimes that are getting off scot-free in the minds of the Israeli-haters? I see that as someone simply responding to what they see happening.

Despite what half of Ireland seems to think, Israel is not the source of all evil in the world.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,611 ✭✭✭JohnDoe2025

There are posters on here who denied Iran's links with Hamas and Hezbollah, asking for proof.

Those posts have aged well in light of the weekend admissions by Iran of their alliance with Hezbollah. It may even be sufficient to justify the war against Iran.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,799 ✭✭✭bored65

I ain’t the one who keeps blaming some nebulous “West” for all they dumpster fires in the Middle East

And yes the reply to news I posted about Iran resuming terrorisation of its own population with executions for protesting was a “but but whataboutism Palestine” in a thread not related to it

you’ve ignored the substance of my post. It was pointing out your repeated “the west”, or the “lefties” when it comes to anybody who disagrees with what Israel are currently doing. It’s tedious and has little basis in reality. How is it a left wing position? It isn’t.

The poster reduces it to a binary discussion when he consistently frames anyone who he doesn’t agree with as “the left”. Anybody who disagrees with what Israel is doing is not automatically “the left”. Criticism comes from all sides of the political spectrum.

I have never once downplayed Iranian treatment and killing of protesters either, fwiw. And I don’t think many on here have. It’s another convenient invention for some people to beat “the left” with.
But I also haven’t up played them like several (I’m open to correction but I am almost sure you jumped from 30,000 to 40,000 in the space of about an hour a few weeks ago).

Likewise I also am not bothered to engage with someone using the term “Israeli-haters”. It’s another nonsense. You might be ok to stand by and refuse to call out the murder of 20,000 kids, the displacement of hundreds of thousands more innocents, ethnic cleansing and genocide, but to insinuate that those calling it out are fuelled by hatred rather than genuine concern is rubbish. It’s a deflection and a way to dismiss criticism rather than engage with it.

Nobody says Israel is the source of all evil in the world. That's a caricature. But people are entitled to criticise those actions without being told they are "the left", "Israeli-haters".
