Battery not kicking in.

On Thursday I got 21 solar panels and 10kw battery (2 5kw batteries) installed.

All going well except for an issue with the battery not kicking in when required.

Yesterday morning at 8:10 the house required 11kw. The battery was at approximately 45% but didn’t supply any power. Nearly all of it came from the grid.

Yesterday evening at 17:55 the house needed nearly 13kw. This time the battery was at 100% and only supplied 3.9k, with the grid supplying 7.67kw.

The manufacturer of the batteries and inverter are Goodwe. The app is SEMS+

Is the problem with the app setup or the inverter or the batteries?

If it's a 5kw inverter for an NC6 connection and the load is 13 kw then 8 kw will have to come from grid.

What is the inverter capacity ?

What is the ESB connection type ?

10 kwh is a reasonable battery size for an urban house but 13 kw is a huge load. There seems to be a significant mismatch here.

Also on the early morning you're not saying what the state of charge of the batteries was.

If the batteries are empty they're not going to supply anything. You need to look at when the system is programmed to charge and to what level.

I'm not familiar with the devices you've got so I can't give you detailed instructions.

If you just got it installed you should get on to your installer in the first instance before you mess with any settings
