Under the Giant fest not going ahead this year and pushed to 2027 with their website updated - in an email sent they cited Garda Resource constraints from the EU Presidency

Is that the crowd based at the end of Meath Road? I've been meaning to try it for ages but never got around to it. Any good?

Carlisle Grounds can't be used for anything other than football. The Grpunds are owned by the Wicklow County Council, which leases the stadium to the club. It's a sporting lease.

They've tried to run gigs there before but couldn't because of that.

Pity Groove is no longer running as I think it would have more appeal now.

yep I hear you - but in their email to my wife who had purchased tickets they state that there's "full confirmation" to go ahead with it in August 2027 with full back backing from Wicklow Country council and all key stakeholders.

Lineup is really bad (IMHO) but would be cool if it materializes into something different for Bray - appreciate other people have failed or not come back like Groove

Edit - see a post from Joe Behan confirming same but with key differential in the wording "the proposed event is not proceeding this year with the intention to examine dates in 2027" so far from a given which is important because the email also offers "founder status" to ticket purchasers with perks presumably so you don't request a refund

Surely they will have to made to refund everyone. Anyone who doesn't ask needs their head examined. You have paid for an event that might happen next year.

    From the Bray People:

"The promotional campaign went live before any consultation with the council, even though football club Bray Wanderers, who use the Carlisle Grounds, hold only a sporting lease and do not have authority to approve non-sporting events independently."

I spoke to a couple of local events people when I saw the original press release and they said "it'll never happen".

Anybody see much movement around the Town Centre for the cinema? I walked by over the weekend and it looks like new lights have been installed in the unit above Pennys/Sports Direct.

Erika Doyle has a post up on social media. She visited the site. They are saying pre Christmas, despite the speculation it wasn’t actually fitted out at all. It will have armchairs etc but at “affordable levels”. For some reason the Stella really perturbed some people on social media so funny they have to clarify that.

I seen the article yesterday. Looks like the fit out has started, which is great news for the town.
