What brand do you wear apart from golf ?. A few manufacturers like Skechers or Ecco also make golf shoes.

A couple of my golfing mates use Orthotic inserts in all their shoes and that sorted them. You might have a foot shape / condition that needs more or different support.

Well worth finding out about this before spending big.

My own choice is Footjoy Softjoys.

Honestly the best thing to do is go to McGuirks or Halpenny and try on as many pairs as you can. What's good for you might not suit someone else.

Also Ben Bailey says... consider using getting fitted for orthotics to improve the support. They will be customised for your unique requirements and your feet will thank you.

I bought a pair of Under Armour Phantom Fore for this season and they are by far the most comfortable I've ever had. Like walking on pillows.

Exactly - I got a pair of sketchers and found them dreadfully uncomfortable, whereas others will say they are great.

Ecco suit me - especially like the "lacing" system they have. I also have a light weight pair of Mizuno which I also find comfortable.

Totally agree that when it comes to footwear, you really need to try different styles yourself and see what suits your feet.

Spent a lot of last year trying to find the most comfortable shoes I could due to a bout of plantar fasciitis. Obviously YMMV.

Hardest part was finding shoes where the cushioning was somewhat in the actual sole rather than the insole, as apparently you're supposed to remove the insole to make room for an orthotic. Best, for me, were the Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour, half a size larger than I'd normally take.

This year, for the odd few holes in the evening time etc., I've tried spikeless and found the Under Armour Halo Tour to be extremely comfortable. My course is hilly so I haven't and probably won't wear them in the wet or early in the mornings when the ground is damp, but they're very soft on the feet.

Used to wear Skechers prior to getting the PF and they were comfortable too.

I suffered with plantar fasciitis for a few years and when I went to McGuirks for new shoes the salesman said of all the shoes here there’s only one pair they would suit you and they were Under armour. I find them brilliant.

I’d go to a shop and get the advice of an experienced salesperson before making any decision.

If you play regularly then I'd have a second pair to rotate so you're not wearing the same pair the whole time, I always have two or three on the go.

Check your socks too, too much sweating etc if polyester

Here's the thing, Sketchers are some of the most comfortable golf shoes I've ever worn. On the downside, they're not high quality. I purchased 'water resistant' Sketchers, which kept the water out for no more than five minutes, and a 'waterproof' pair that didn't last a single round.
So, for summer shoes maybe they're ok, but I wouldn't go near them if you want to keep your feet dry.

For a completely differently flavour - I recently got the True Links Original 1.2 and love them. They are a barefoot style shoe - thin sole, zero drop from heel to toe and a wide toe box. The biggest difference I have found is the zero drop and getting a way better feeling of connection to the ground when rotating in the backswing.

I wear a barefoot style shoe day to day so I'm used to that minimalist feeling. If you're someone who needs a lot of cushioning then they're not for you.

Ecco Bioms by a long shot. just make sure you properly wash and dry them after wet rounds. leather sealers are great too!

I got a pair at the start of last season and they are brilliant. Most comfortable shoes I have ever owned and the waterproofing is still perfect.
