Trying to book 2 of our free flights received through the credit card, has it got harder recently as don't remember it being like this, the last couole of years?

Trying to get a date combination that works in the booking page is tough.

Is there any truth in the availability can be checked on the Avios site (if you wanted to pay with points and card)? If no seats are avaliable on that, does it mean there are no 'free' flights available?

As far as I know they are completely different fare buckets.

I've got BOI CC free flights when no Avios award flights were available and vice versa before.

There is no reason this can't be an automated system. It's extremely poor

I'm just back from the US flew overnight bank holiday Sunday from MIA to LHR and on to DUB i got 2218 Avios for the MIA Sector and 144 for the DUB sector. I am still waiting on the AA ones from DUB ORD BNA then MSY to MIA to come through.

Once the AA Avios is credited to the account how do i go about changing them over to my EI account? On the DUB ORD sector i paid €153 each for premium economy which was well worth it. At the time it was $1867.

if you credited to BA,you simply link your BA and aer club accounts

Iirc the process to do that is in the BA club menu somewhere

It’s a while since I did it and as you only need to link once,I can’t remember

Once linked you can transfer either direction at will

I need flights for 3 of us. There’s only 1 available. Is it likely more will come on or is that just it?

Do they need to be direct EI flights? Search across BA club Iberia, finnair, sign up link and search

There is different availability on each

Also think of taking the 1 avios flight and buying the other 2 as that one is more likely to go than others turn up

Do NOT use your avios to buy a cash plus avios seat, that’s very bad value

Didn't realise this for the 'free flights'

I booked an Aerspace fare from DUB-AMS on EI604 earlier this week - My Aerclub account has been credited with the number of Avios which I would have expected to have received for the fare paid. However, I have received only 15 tier credits for that flight. I was not connecting from elsewhere - it was a one way ticket from DUB-AMS.

My understanding has always been that 50 tier credits are awarded for an Aerspace fare. The Aer Lingus website appears to support this understanding: https://www.aerlingus.com/aerclub/aerclub-tiers/earn-tier-credits/

Before I go chasing Aer Lingus for the missing tier credits, is there any circumstance where an Aerspace fare would only receive 15 tier credits?

The booking was made fairly last minute - it was only booked the evening beforehand if that's in any way relevant.

    Thanks.

Quoting myself. More reward flights for that day have just become available. I need to add my child and unable to do that with cancelling my flight and starting again 😵‍💫

    just link the bookings

    Do NOT cancel anything

If you cancel, there’s zero guarantee that your cancelled seats will reappear as available avios seats

Not possible to link. Was very much a - computer says no - situation. Issue is I can’t add a child to me. He needs to be booked with an adult. Apparently. Anyway, I did it. But frustrating

you need to call aer Lingus to link the booking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 371 ✭✭Rmgblue

    I did. Not possible. Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,123 ✭✭✭pureza

Because you made a single booking with a child?

You definitely can link separate adult bookings

Just to repeat,it is Not advisable to cancel avios booking when one or 2 more become available

That’s because they’re not guaranteed to go back into the avios pool for availability and even if they do,you run the risk of someone else booking your original seats

    Nothing to stop them
