Good . Sick of answering your baiting posts .

    Sass ? for example ..

I answered politely which was more than you but you were narked because I didn't agree with you and started with the name calling them .

No inconvenience to me as I am Northside but to thousands who were attending gigs in Dublin this weekend and other activities.. of course it is .

It may not affect you but it is relevant to people here .

They could have done it any other weekend in May .was my point three posts back but you couldn't leave it there .

. This is not a place to be berating people and name calling after a night out as you did to me .

    Unacceptable Colm UFC

I agree with you on this. People were enjoying themselves, nice mixed crowd of age groups at it who didn't mind the rain. The support act were actually good I thought.

Made the trip as I have friends down there who were going. Speaking with others, they appreciated the fact that band of that quality are playing two nights in Limerick and not having to commute up. So it isn't taken for granted when an act goes their way on a tour. Good setlist, felt the sound was good as well, the venue I thought was well organized and had a great ambience due to location.

Dolans is a gift that Limerick are fortunate to have.

    Snow Patrol were enjoyable .

Played a shorter set than expected, Started 9.15 to 10.30 end .

But still nice to hear them .

Another pixies attendant here. Same as, probably 4th time to see them. They were excellent. Joey was his ephemeral best, throwing that wall of noise out into the crowd. frank still sounds as perfect as he did on those early albums and Dave and Emma tie it all together.

I was surprised there was no 'monkeys' while we got 'wave of mutilation' plus a reprise.

I was pretty close to the stage on the rhs and didn't notice any real chatter to be honest. I guess that was an issue further back.

But Jesus the amount of selfies being took by grown women who really should know better was insane. No one needs to see your poncho wrapped rain soaked face while the band plays in the background.

It's actually mandatory these days. They have to show their 12 followers on Instagram that they're living their best life.

Jon Spencer - Room 2, Glasgow

Small venue with big pillars that blocked the view of the stage for a lot of the audience. A bar that only sold warm cans of Red Stripe. Not a great start. The gig was very good though. The drummer and bass player had great energy. They rattled through the tunes at pace. My vantage point meant I was getting more drums and bass than guitar and vocal. Hot and sweaty. So many things going against it but I enjoyed it!

Oof! Looks like a helluva setlist, 1st night anyway. Vamos, Caribou, Isla de Encanta, Planet of Sound........

I'm hoping for a bit of UMass but I'd certainly take that lot.

I’m presuming security isn’t too intrusive at the Pixies gig?

I generally like to bring my trusty hipflask in with me.

Yeah that set from vamos to veloria was just brilliant.… It will be interesting to see how much they mix it up this evening.

Gans support in Dublin apparently. Don't know them. Were they up first in Limerick too? Anyone catch them?

Yeah they were great to be honest.

3 piece punk/techno from around Birmingham. They create a good noise and there's a quirkiness to them. The drummer and the guitarist share vocals, and the 3rd guy, when not twisting knobs, plays the flute and sax. Sounds kinda weird but actually good fun. I was thinking they'd be a decent attraction for ATN

Snow Patrol were fantastic last night in St Anne's park. Not seen them since 2009 and prior to that 2004 and possibly 2005 - they've always put on a great show any time I've seen them and last night was no exception. Sound and visuals were excellent

Pixies were amazing in limerick again tonight.

Now there is a sentence i never thought i would say, to have them just 25 mins from my door, thanks to Mick dolan and his team.

Limerick punching well above its weight thanks to that man and his family and team

    Pixies brilliant this evening.

Weren’t expecting them to be so good.

    Will need time to process.

    Also, they were loud.

Also saw Pixies tonight. Awesome show. I love their style. No breaks, not a single word to the crowd, not even an encore, just arrived on stage and played for 90mins straight and then left. Love it. They played every single hit, including every song of theirs that I know. Can't complain.

Also, shout-out to the support before them. I couldn't tell you their name or a single lyric of the songs they were shouting, but they were absolutely amazing. Just 3 pure-mad, wild young fellas. I think they were English. One of them was alternating between a saxophone and a flute, and the drummer (who also seemed to be the lead singer) stopped drumming during one song, took off his clothes and jumped into the crowd and started rolling around on the floor. lol One of the more unique live sets I've seen but it was hugely entertaining.

Gans was the name of the band, very good, certainly interested in seeing more from them

Stuart Lee in the Olympia. Hilarious from start to finish. And there was music via his Dylan impression.

Delighted to here that. Couldn't go as it was my daughter's birthday so I'm randomly driving to Drogheda tomorrow to see him (bought a ticket before he added the Bord Gais tonight 🙈)

No, they couldn't. The work being done couldn't fit into a 48 hour closure and there's only so many bank holiday weekends in the year - all busy.

So you reckon they were actually working on it all weekend ? I hope so

They're not going to shut the railway down for 3 days for the craic, they were working on it day and night. But longer daylight hours at this time of year allow more to get done

It's not done to inconvenience people

Lovely stuff … going to the Bord Gais show tonight

They were all just out of short trousers. It’ll come.

Speaking of age. The guy beside me in the audience was taking pictures of them with a disposable camera. (If you’re too young, Google it). I mentioned to him that I didn’t think they made them anymore. He said someone handed it to him at the front desk and asked him to take lots of pics annd hand it back. Obviously someone older looking after them.
